NorthernTanzania, LUSHOTO, a great place... good fruits, and nice, mild climate, not too hot, beautiful mountains, wilderness, villages, famous for its fruits: SONI, 15 min from Lushoto... Very green.
jackfruits, apples, bananas, tree tomatoes, passion fruit, tiny avocados (like ping pong balls), grapes, papayas....
This is the best place I've found so far in East Africa, really!
Greetins from Sumatera ....... I am on another 2-3 month stint here ...... been coming here every year since 1997 ...... I keep going back to the same 4 places ..... Bukit Lawang .... Lake Toba ..... Bukittinggi (favourite small city in the world so far) .... Lake Maninjau ...... although there is lots more to explore ....... Sumatera is bisected by the equator ....... and it has a huge mountain range that runs the entire length of the island ...... which creates amazing highland zones ........ Kulvinksas put forward the theory that the tropics at sea level is not the ideal place to live ...... too much heat and humidity ...... thats what I like here ....... and right now at the Lake it feels like being at the ocean or on an island anyway ...... OK there is a bit less fruit here then Thailand ..... but also less development ...... once out of towns the roads are barely 2 cars wide often ....... and once you get off that road onto side branches you realize ...... Wow these people are amazing gardeners ....... every square inch of land has been planted out where possible ...... OK but then the mountains are still covered in lots of jungle too ....... so yeah I really recommend it ......... 30 mountains in Sumatera higher then 2000m, highest peaks are like 3800 and 3600m ..... people are really friendly ....... OK if this sparks your interest check out my photo selection ....... a lot from here but the rest from North Queensland Australia at 16 deg South of Equator still a pretty good area too ........ anyone interested in being part of my gardening projects just contact me .....

Will stay in touch and keep a look on the progress. We are sincerely commited to the path and we will no doubt link up in the flesh within a couple of years maximum, but learning, growing and journeying is constant and there is work to do on many levels, hence why we are not coming immediately.
Blessed Love!

Comment by Fruits'n'Herbs on February 27, 2013 at 10:00pm Yes Greetings and Love!
We are two brothers, currently on La Palma, Canarias. Michael and Yasmine was of great assistance to us in giving us tips on the canarias before we went about 5 months ago! We left Norway in search of better living. We are happy here, learning and growing, but the fruit situation right now is not the best, only bananas and dates, nisperos coming on though, however we definately long for the tropics and we are very interested in your project and hope to be meeting with you all soon in the future. For now, we have some lessons to learn here in the subtropics, and then we will go travelling to collect seeds, and knowledge, in a few years we hope to be able to do something like what you are saying, maybe even join you there.
All the best to your project, lets stay in touch!
One Blessed Love!

Hello everyone!!
we are in Costa-Rica, on the way to Nicaragua to search for land. Some of you know me, I'm the guy in Kenya, doing the all natural fruitarian community. Many things happened. Now I'm with a different team, things are looking good, we are 100% committed, we all are working on this project 100%. If anyone wants to know more, please check our updates either on facebook or on our web page in the news section. https://www.facebook.com/Fruitarian.Community.in.Bolivia
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
We've decided to come to this website to search for more people, we are setting up a bigger team.We think its best to get more people in order to be able to buy more land at first, to then be able to divide it to the people joining. We can't count on being able to buy adjacent land when the time will come to expend.
We have teamed up with 2 awesome people, they had a raw-vegan community in canary islands for 2 years. They're Micheal and Yasmine, 2 beautiful souls with tons of experience, now those experiences are influencing us, about many things, one of those influence it to open ourselves to more people, to assure the existence of this project, so it won't be like my last project in Kenya, but hopefully very close to it anyway...
So yhea, check us out!!! we are here too now... http://www.30bananasaday.com/forum/topics/creation-of-a-fruitarian-...
