Costco is mighty handy, though seldom organic, with some great prices, but I'd still be grateful to learn of additional offerings, especially local ones.  How are you long-term Tucsonans staying well…Continue

I like that idea, Oriana. Since you're the one who needs to be in top shape for the race, you wanna pick the time and place for the fruitluck? Put it on here with a few weeks notice as well as on the main events calendar page here (I can help if you like) and we should attract a nice crowd. Did you want to keep it to just fruities, or would you want to give a shout out to the larger veg squad in town too?

Teresa and Trysta, you may or may not be able to score the sprouts leftovers, but you should definately be able to get full case discounts, which are typically 10%.

Also have you checked out some of the local farmers markets:

Roadrunner Market is the longest running mkt in the state, going on at least 21 yrs now.  I highly recommend Stella of Horney Toad Farms there.

Anyone like near Price and Southern in Tempe?  That's where I live.  I get most fruit at Costco and Sunflower Market.  Anyone interested in running the full P.F. Chang Marathon in Jan. or the Women's Half in November with me.  We could have a frut feast the day before.

@ Trysta:  I wonder if I've seen you before, because I shop at the same sprouts! Next time I go I'll be looking for someone else that is buying as many bananas as me. =)

Maybe we could talk to them and find out if we could get our hand the produce that they plan to throw out before they throw it.

Tip for fellow Tucsonans: Sunflower Market (on Speedway, not sure about the others) has Organic Chiquita bananas for 50 cents/pound today only.  We picked up a case and they look good.  There is not a case discount because they are already losing money at this price, but they need to move some so they priced them low.  Enjoy...

Re: Teresa Hudson - I'm in N. Phoenix/Scottsdale & shop at Sprouts on Tatum across from Paradise Valley Mall however there's a real farmer's market each Saturday at 9375 E Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ, on Shea just East of 94th St.  Here is their website for anyone interested http://www.azlocalfarmersmarkets.com/  I haven't gone there yet but plan to :)

Hi I;m from Tempe and I do all of my fruit shopping at Costco.  I find it has the best quality.  I am running in the P.F. Chang marathon (full) in Jan. of 2012.  I run it every year.  I am also doing the Women's Half marathon in November.  I have run the Lost Dutchman marathon in Feb. a few times also.  Too bad we can't get a group of us for a prerace fruit dinner or meet up afterwards.

Hello Everyone I'm new to 30bananasaday! I'm from Phoenix been raw for about an year now. Is anyone going to run the 20K Estrella Mountain on October 2, 2011. That run is in the preserves and looks fun to do. Also, I'm registered for PF Chang 1/2 Marathon. I would like to talk to like minds because this lifestyle is hard socially.

I basically getting most of my produce from Costco and Sprouts. Is there any good deals out here for good organic produce besides supermarkets that I'm used too.

Peace and Love!

I live in Tempe near Price and Southern.  Anyone up to running the P.F. Chang Marathon in Jan. or the all women's 1/2 marathon in November.  I am signed up for both!  We could have a prerace "meal" the night before.
