Yesterday, after my daily 6.5 mile workout at the high-school track, I took off my shoes and socks and ran 3/4 of a mile on the turf field. The last time I ran barefoot was at least 40 years ago. I had never run that far barefoot without stopping in my entire life. I will try it again today.

Permalink Reply by Eliot W. Collins on June 12, 2012 at 6:03am Even 3/4 of a mile was too much to start with. I aggravated my plantar fasciitis. I guess that I have been depending on over-engineered shoes for too long. Once the "inflammation" goes away, I will try again, but this time I will initially only go 1/4 mile each day, and gradually build up from there. I am very patient.
