Hey bananaman! The best place to get wholesale fruit in Sac is Norcal Produce. You just call them and say you need to make an order on the "House" account (which just means it's a will call). The folks who answer the phones are really nice, they know their inventory very well so you can ask them anything and they'll know whether or not they've got it in stock (or look it up really quick if they don't know off hand). They're open 24hrs a day, but for safety they close the office doors at 4:30pm so you just have to call and let them know you're there if you pick up after that time so they can open the door for you. Just for reference: Fair Trade Organic Bananas are ~$30/40lb box (~100 bananas), 15lb case of Organic Medjool dates are ~$56, best deals I've seen anywhere. Best farmer's market is every Sunday from 8am-12pm at W St. & 8th St., I used to drive an hour all the way from Cool, CA to get down to Sac, that's how awesome it is! It's year round and has the most organic vendors of all the local markets, lots of excellent fresh stuff and great people :o)

Soil Born Farms will be hosting a Harvest Leader Training, on December 15th, for next year's Sac citrus season! If any of you are interested in helping lead groups of volunteers around the Sacramento neighborhoods to harvest fruit from Sacramentoites that want to donate fruit to the Sac Food Bank, sign up for this! Or come volunteer sometime next year!

Aye Jonny! Don't be discouraged by on/off again, we all go through it--you got this!!! :o) Kelly, Woodland's not far from Sac at all! The next few weeks are crazy for me, but I want to plan a fruity meetup for our group for mid-October in Davis at the UC Davis Arboretum, I'll keep y'all posted!
