Comment by Mangoustine on March 25, 2013 at 11:42am: In my opinion the best sun blocker is the mix of coconut oil with zink oxide (white powder avialble in pharmacy, used also in baby creams for diaper rash). Just mix the ingredients into a paste and spread a very thin layer on the skin. It leaves some white traces but it is really the less toxic, the cheapest and the most effective option.

Coconut oil works really well, but if you live in aus/nz where the sun is strong/hole in ozone, then you need to put it on more frequently/keep your skin covered if you're out in the sun for long periods.
