Comment by Tyrell on February 25, 2013 at 2:05am I'm thinking about coming to visit singapore next week to visit for a couple of days, I have a family friend who lives there currently but is moving in 2 weeks I am currently in thailand btw. I was wondering since this group isnt very active, does anyone who frequents this site still live there? If so where are some good places to get fruit or vegan food?
Comment by alexisraw on August 23, 2012 at 5:58am another aspiring raw vegan/fruitarian here.. been on a transition diet of mostly raw (2 fruit meals and 1 cooked meal in the evening)... apparently not a good idea as far as durianrider is concerned.. will see if I can be 100% raw (fruit) tomorrow..
anyone interested in starting a fruit coop?

Comment by Chris on July 14, 2012 at 10:16am Hi,
Got a two day stop-over in Singapore 21st and 22nd of July and was wondering if anybody got some tips, where to find nice fruit.
..know I'll be having a heap of durian as never tried it but what else is recommended to try there?
I see from previous posts, that a good thing is hitting up huge supermarkets but what about some of the fruit/vegie markets, I find in various travel guides? Are they around a certain area?
Thanks in advance for any in-sider tips :-)
Cheers,
Chris
It is expensive here. I did eat cooked food yesterday but I feel okay about it. I had two large steamed sweet potatoes which I think is really fine. I felt really heavy and full after eating them and was thinking about what other cooked food I should try but I got right back on raw after the potatoes.
Comment by Durianwriter on June 20, 2012 at 2:27pm Hey Alanana,
we passed through Singapore just a few months ago. Produce was great! Check out any giant supermarket. You should be able to find all the melons, papayas, and anything else to suit your fancy. We even found 4 kinds of dates! It's spendy, but everything in Singapore is costly. And honestly, I think eating higher fat for a few days is MUCH better than stir fry over rice... stir fry is a lot of cooked oil, which means it has gone rancid, plus salt and whatever other crap they put on their stir fry. If you're starved for carbs by all means go for rice, but with the great supermarket options in Singapore you should be fine.
