first day in singapore was fun but a massive failure as far as diet goes - I stayed raw but I probably would have been better off with a cooked vegan stir fry over white rice. I eat 100!!!! grams of almonds and about 6 servings of durian throughout the day - trying not to beet myself up over it.... no more fat for the week!!!! The fruit i am finding here just isn't appealing or is unripe. I bought a bunch of (unripe) bananas and papaya today so i should be good on thursday and friday but I am worried about tomorrow - where can one find good dates in this town!?!?!?!?
I arrive Tuesday June 19 and fly out on Saturday June 23d. I love durian and would definitely be interested in trying singaporean durian! Recently tried my first sapote and would love to find more to try. I googled fruits in singapore and found a few fruits that I have never tried before: chempedak, bueh pulasan, soursop, red sugar cane, and buah long long (http://www.cnngo.com/singapore/eat/singapores-lesser-known-tropical...). If any of these fruits are in season I would love to try them.
Comment by Ezekiel Kok on June 14, 2012 at 11:54pm Hi,
I am going to be in Singapore for a few days next week, in Jurong East (couchsurfing) and I was hoping to find out where to go for the best fruit. I would love to meet up with some LFRVs there or vegans to eat some fruit and/or salad! I am really new to the LFRV lifestyle. I have been transitioning for most of the year and I have been 100% for the last 14 days. I would really like to stay raw in Singapore. My plan is to bring some dry fruit with me (from Thailand) in case its hard to find fresh fruit the first day I am there but I am worried they might take it away when I go through customs. Does anyone know if you can fly fruit or dried fruit into Singapore?
Thanks!
alana
