Hey guys,
I just bought a whole bunch of organic bananas, since my local store had them and was wondering any good ways to use them.
I eat bananas up whole and alone but after a while it does get boring.
I know that people use bananas and freeze them and use them as ice cream. Never tried this yet. But I was wondering what could I do with them, blended and nonfrozen.
Does anyone know get any good blended recipes, such as bananas with water with dates or something? The only dates I have are Deglet and some Zahidi. Maybe I may experiment with those.
Does anyone have proven blends?
Thanks.

It's kinda like cereal. I've also used frozen blueberries instead of strawberries and it's pretty good too.
Hey David. Oooh, all of the ones mentioned above sound great!
Some more great ones are
- banana & date "mylkshake" as many bananas as you like (both fresh and frozen if you want, preferably mostly fresh ones to avoid brain freeze) blended with a couple of dates and choc mint herb. it's like a milkshake. unbelievable. but you don't even need the mint if it's not available for you.
- banana + optional extra fruit & some leafy greens as many bananas ad you like with some greens, which should preferably not have too much of a strong flavor on their own. add another fruit or two, I've tried kiwi and mango and it was quite nice but not good food combining.
- raw vegan apple pie in a glass bananas, apples and dates blended until you get your own preferred flavor and sweetness. optional cinnamon (which I wouldnt have but do as you wish :))
Hey Ali! Banana and mango are sweet fruits whilst kiwi is acid... so yeah. Some pull it off, others don't.

Permalink Reply by AJ on April 2, 2012 at 11:26am Would bananas and almond milk count as mixing fruit and fat? Anyway I concocted a smoothie today that's really good if your sweet tooth is completely out of control like mine, haha. I call it cake batter because I swear, it tastes like cake batter to me (though I'll admit, I kiind of don't remember what cake batter actually tastes like...) Blend 3-4 bananas depending on size, 2 medjool dates, 1 smallish apple (I'm sure pear would work too, just make sure it's sweet!), 100% unflavored coconut water, then cinnamon and ginger to taste. Blend for an extremely long time until it's smooth and creamy and slightly bubbly, just like cake batter, then lick the crap outta that spoon!
Permalink Reply by ChriStern on April 4, 2012 at 10:27pm Yes you are right! A combo of almond milk and bananas would be like mixing fat and fruit. I haven't tried almond milk yet,but I thought it will be a good substitute. Yeap I have a sweet tooth too :P and I m definetely going to try the batter cake smoothie ! I loved it just because of its name ! :)

Permalink Reply by alejandra solorio on April 4, 2012 at 12:22pm I just did the same as ka but I just blended 3 bananas and then added strawberries and then added 2 ice cubes and it was the texture of yogurt. I added bananas and it's really good & filling!
Permalink Reply by AJ on April 8, 2012 at 1:45am yay i'm glad you guys like the recipe! also i know it's not considered optimal but it's not forbidden either, i've never had a problem adding a tablespoon of raw carob powder for chocolate cake batter =] also ka, tried your recipe it was faaaaantastic thanks! also alison/dreamer... i'm pretty sure mango and kiwi are both sub-acid and banana is sweet, our sources may be different but from what i gather that's accurate.
