It used to be Shell's. but they ran and left behind an ugly ass building with extremely polluted ground. It's definitely not the most pleasant place to live but we dont pay rent and give a use for this place. I totally agree Fruitman Sapote: out with the private cars and fridges!

my one recommendation for raw vegan anarchists, stop paying for rent, accommodation, I'm sleeping in a mates backyard here in Marrickville OZ, haven't paid for rent since July 3, 2009, around the time I went vegetarian (before going vegan on July 1st 2010) that should be the moral baseline, don't support usury, like not using animal byproducts, oh & consider boycotting fridges, hot-water, lightbulbs & private cars if possible, cheers Sapote out (am a mutulist) happy to be a member.

Yes, you are correct about the empty houses. If it was just me, I would totally do that. I fantasize about living like a gypsy and just traveling. But, I have four children, three of which are teenagers. I can't bring myself to make them live that way. and their mom has partial custody, which complicates things further for me.

One way is to borrow all the money that you can from the Banks. MAX out on credit, borrow borrow borrow from creditors. Then pay nothing back by going Bankrupt. If you are not stupid with the money and you put it somewhere where no one will find it then you will have enough money to live off for a long time!

We have more empty houses than homeless people, not to mention other types of buildings. Pick one and squat it. Or find an established squat to join and contribute to, or make some other arrangement. Trade work, not money. Or set up a camp with a hammock and tarp, moving around as necessary. That's what I did for about a year. Become an activist to meet others to learn from. Find good dumpsters to get tons of free produce from (Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are good candidates, and anywhere that doesn't use a compactor. Also I'm inclined to think that wholesalers must have amazing dumpsters but haven't checked it out yet.
I totally agree with Justin. Right now I'm back in mainstream society, but I'm cutting it off by the end of this year at the latest.
