Julia! Greenwich has some good farmers markets. Every Wednesday in old Greenwich there is one, 2:30-6 right off sound beach ave. http://www.oldgreenwichfarmersmarket.com/Old_Greenwich_Farmers_Mark...
And one every Saturday in the Greenwich train station parking lot, 9:30-12. http://www.greenwichfarmersmarketct.com
Unfortunately you missed the peak of watermelon/stone fruit/berry season but they should still have some, also lots of lettuces, fresh vegetables, amazing tomatoes, etc. Definitely worth checking out!

I used to live in Stamford! I'm in Monroe and we have a small Farmers market every Friday from 3-6 in the green. I never went because they are so over priced. What I do about bananas is buy a bunch of organic ones from Costco or buy a box from trader joes and keep them until they get ripe (TJ and Costco have the cheapest bananas). There are small farms around Orange, like sunflower farm, and they have some foods... I don't know many places.

I'm a native of stamford but I just moved back after living in the midwest for 3 years. I can't believe how difficult it is to find ripe bananas at the grocery store. I also have yet to find any farmer's markets. Do you guys know where the best place to buy organic would be?

You haven't had durian until you get it fresh in SE Asia :) I honestly haven't eaten a banana in over a month because I have been enjoying summer fruits. When I do banana smoothies I have noticed that it is best to do them in batches if you are going to be around to make it each time. A good shake can fix separation, add some extra water and shake it up to get a better consistency lol I prefer banana cereal over a banana smoothie any day!

noo then it turns into goopy water.. no joke hahah. I prefer frozen anyway. the downside is that now that its cooling down outside, this morning i was literally shivering from drinking it

Idk what you mean by goopy but maybe try adding more water so it's more like a beverage than goop if texture is an issue :]
