my experience with postpartum THRUSH: baby had it in mouth and i had it in breasts/nipples. i was able to quickly get it under control once i decreased my banana and starch intake for about 3 days.

Hi Morgan - you could start a thread for this vent, since I can't reply to your vent directly (this is the main comment wall, but people keep posting here lol). Anyway, your doctor is an idiot of course. Such fearmongering and terrible information. I have two children. During my first pregnancy I was told terrible advice and eventually just stayed home, had my baby with my partner. Had my second at home the same way. Not saying that's for you, but these little stressors matter, BIG time, during labor. Women stop or stall labor when they fear something or feel unsupported. I would ignore the comments about weight gain (I'm petite and I gained around 22lbs each pregnancy, so, yours should be higher, right?). The diabetes test is also an unreliable joke of a test and I refused their glucose syrup crap with my first (didn't have medicalized prenatal care with my second). And NO do not cut fruit. Your baby loves fruit, they actually are seen swallowing faster in-utero after mama eats fruit! Every person I've met who goes "low carb" for pregnancy does not lose weight, does not feel good, does not labor well, and has spiked blood pressure and protein spilling (eclampsia!) near the end. Tell the doctor to eff off if you need to, the doctor is not the mother (you) and didn't study holistic nutrition. Happy birthing!

Hello all! I recently went in for my 30 week check up and I must vent a little. My doctor told me to completely cut sugar out of my diet..I was blown away. I know I should be totally honest with my doctor, but I didn't tell her that I'm on the raw till four lifestyle. I have a hard enough time defending my way of eating to my significant other and friends and family. I have told her though that I eat fruit almost all day long and in the beginning she was a little concerned, but is now majorly concerned. Which I just don't understand because her excuse before was that she was worried I would fail my gestational diabetes test, but I passed with flying colors! Now she says that I should try and not gain anymore weight. Her reasoning is that she's worried I'll develop preclampsia from the added weight. I was 165 lbs when I got pregnant and had been struggling to get the 15 lbs I gained off from discontinuing my birth control. Once I found out I was pregnant I knew that it obviously wasn't coming off at all until after the pregnancy so it actually was a little relieving because I tend to be very hard on myself when I gain weight.  I've gained a healthy 25 lbs so far but because my weight is at 190 lbs I think she feels I'm getting too heavy. She told me it would just be easier to go completely low carb to maintain my weight and even suggested I lose 5 lbs! I have no plans to switch doctors since I only have 10 weeks or less left, but am very frustrated. I plan to incorporate more green veggies into my meals, but I just can't picture myself cutting out fruit I honesty crave throughout the day. Thoughts??

Three and a half months pregnant, and my major food aversions are finally dissipating!  So excited to get back to my raw routines and be a part of this group with you other Mamas and Papas @_@

Hi everyone,

I'm vegetarian and wanted to transition to eventually become a vegan with the Raw Till 4 lifestyle because I feel like as a vegetarian I'm still feel unhealthy. I was in transition into the 30 bananas a day challenge when I found out I'm pregnant. My husband who is not a vegan or vegetarian didn't want me to do the 30 banana cleanse, but was okay with me trying to transition after the pregnancy. He's okay with me eating as much fruit as a I want as long as I eat well throughout the pregnancy, but the truth is I don't even know where to begin now that I stop the banana cleanse. I have become lazy to cook with my fast pace schedule, and just always feeling tired. When I was on the fifth day of the banana cleanse I felt great, but with the warning of my husband I went back to just the fast food quick vegetarian meals. I'm two months pregnant barely working on an appointment with the OBGYN, and struggling with motion sickness and no appetite. I want to be healthy, but just feel so overwhelm with information I don't know what to do with myself. I need help!

I am currently 4 months pregnant.  For the past 3.5 months fruits and veggies have not been appetizing at all.  Now that I feel better I really want to eat raw till 4 again, but I am a little nervous.  If anyone has advice or just support that would be great!  Also, are there any moms out there eating raw while breast feeding?

Anyone that recently began raw before falling pregnant worried about the detox during pregnancy? Detox can take years from what I understand, but I'm not sure that having cooked food (toxic) to fend off toxins makes much sense.

Hi, I'm only a month into the Raw til 4 diet and 2 days ago found out I was pregnant with my sec. I was wondering what are the best foods during pregnancy and how do I get enough calcium? Need a little advise I already eat about 2,500 to 3,000 calories a day.
