Switched to HCRV while nursing

Started by Angela. Last reply by Annica Klein May 11. 12 Replies

Hello! I am very new to HCRV (today is day 4) & was wondering if the calorie recommendations are the same for nursing mamas. Also, has anybody here successfully dropped baby weight while nursing?

Hi, I'm new here, recently went vegan and love everything raw
still make a stew on cold days when veggies are on their last days, so we are mostly raw :)
I'm breast feeding my 4 month old girl and will keep on going if I get pregnant again :D

I remember the indigestion Renee.   For me, I'm not sure what happened until I got some really lovely fruit in huge quantities from a local farm, as well as a ton of mangos.  I did put myself on banana island once or twice while I was pregnant.  Eating a ton of greens might also be helpful.  At the same time, I think you kinda just have to flow with your body whilst pregnant.  There are so many things going on.  I found things magically much easier around the end of my pregnancy.  I can't say why, but it was easier during both of my pregnancies at the very end.  Drink plenty of water and give yourself time to digest if you can.  Good luck.

still not managing 100% raw, but am now 30 weeks pregnant and really struggling to digest cooked grains, i get serious food stasis, indigestion and a bit of reflux with most grains except rice. did anyone else experience this if they are raw/cooked combo?  any inspiration for getting closer to 100% raw?

Congrats Lindsay!!  Glad all is going well.

Nikita, it is wonderful to be vegan while expecting, sooo many benefits.  I started when I was 4 months along with my baby, best pregnancy yet with the least amount of "problems".  There was very little detox for me and it would be better when baby's still inside rather than when he's out.  Babies heal incredibly fast in the womb, so now would be the best time.  I really wish I had been vegan with all my other pregnancies, would have saved many aches and pains.

All the best to you both!

Hi everybody, just an update... 3 weeks ago I gave birth naturally (and easily) to a healthy baby girl, isabelle, weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces. She has been wonderful, very easy to settle and sleeping through most nights. I'm very careful with my diet as I'm breast feeding and find my mostly raw vegan diet suits her perfectly. The few times I've cheated has resulted in giving her tummy aches and blemishes which proves to me that a healthy vegan diet is the way to go.

Help! I want to dive into the 80-10-10 diet, but would it be safe to start while 25 weeks pregnant? will I go into detox and hurt my baby?

Hi, I got pregnant while eating only fruit for health reasons, did not expect to get pregnant, where told that I couldn't conceive by doctors after trying for 10 years. This is my fruity baby! I really believe that fruit made all the difference! Currently B-feeding and eating vegan.
