Vegan picnic on Sunday, December 11 at Hyde Park.

Summer has finally arrived!!! It's time to crank out the fluro speedos, and come join us for a vegan picnic!!! We didn't hold any over winter and spring due to the hit-and-miss weather. But now that it's summer, it's time for us to have some fun in the sun!! We will hold it on Sunday, December 11 at the usual spot at Hyde Park (the south-east corner, which is the corner of Glendower and William Street). We'll kick things off at 1pm.

We will set up a slackline for anyone keen to test out their balancing skills. Plus we'll have frisbees and balls to play with. There's plenty of shade there under the big trees. So even if it's a super duper hot day, it will be a perfect place to chill out :)

For those who ...have never been to one of our picnics before, please come!! Everyone is super friendly. And even if you want to rock up wearing speedos, we won't judge you too much ;)

As for food, because everyone eats so differently, people just generally bring their own food to eat. It can be fruit, lentils, sandwiches, veggies, oreos, cake - whatever! As long as it's vegan, it's fine :). And if you feel like bringing a plate to share, then by all means feel free to do it (but you totally don't have to).

And any family/friends/pets are welcome! Even if they're not vegan, they're still welcome (but just make sure they bring something vegan to eat out of respect to everyone else there).

Ok, so that's about it! I've got to duck off to buy some speedos, but I'll catch you all on Sunday ;)

Why did the banana go out with the prune? Because he couldn't find a date!!

Yes, that corny joke and more will be on offer at our monthly vegan picnic this Sunday. We can all reminisce about our favourite banana memories ... like when they didn't cost $2 each!!

It will be the same deal as usual - just bring along your own food to eat. And if you have any friends or family who want to come, they are most definitely welcome. Even if they're not vegan, that's totally fine. We will convert them for you lol

So we will set up at the usual spot - Jubilee Park at City Beach from 1.30pm. It's the park on the corner of Jubilee Crescent and Challenger Parade (right across the road from City Beach).

If you can't spot us, just give me a buzz on 0412 244 834 and I'll direct you to us :) I'll set up a slackline for anyone keen to test their balancing skills. It should be a nice day, so bring your bathers along as well if you're keen for a swim.

If you've never come along to one of our picnics, please come!!! We won't bite (well, maybe we will if you resemble a banana, so maybe best to leave your banana suit at home).

Catchya all Sunday :)

Summer time is over, but it doesn't mean the fun has to end. So come join us this Sunday for our monthly picnic!!

We can bunch together and recall all of our memorable summer stories, like the time I got stuck in the fig tree and desperately needed to pee. Fun times indeed :)

Also, this will be Daniel Spaapen's final picnic for a fair while. He's being lured across to Cairns by the girl of his dreams, so come along to say goodbye to the man we all call Spaapen (actually, I think I'm the only one who calls him Spaapen. Everyone else calls him Dan).

Anyways, same deal as usual - just bring along your own food to eat. And if you have any friends or family who want to come, then they are most definite...ly welcome. Even if they're not vegan, that's totally fine. We will convert them for you lol

So we will set up at the usual spot - Jubilee Park at City Beach from 3pm. It's the park on the corner of Jubilee Crescent and Challenger Parade (right across the road from City Beach).

If you can't spot us, just give me a buzz on 0412 244 834 and I'll direct you to us :)

If you've never come along to one of our picnics, please come!!! We won't bite (unless we're agitated after being stuck up a fig tree while needing to pee).

Catchya all Sunday :)

Looking for GP in Perth who is plant food (Dr McDougall and/or 811) friendly. Need to do bloods and other stuff and I'm in Cottesloe so nearer is better.

What's the best way to spend a hot, balmy night? With a bunch of vegans of course!! It's going to be 41 degrees on Tuesday, so come join us at Hyde Park for a super casual picnic dinner :)

We will kick things off from 5.15pm, but mozy on down at any time that suits you. We will be there until close to 8 o'clock I'm guessing.

If you haven't met the crew before, this will be a great chance to pop by and introduce yourself :) I promise we won't bite!! Just bring your own dinner along (whether it be fruit, curry, juice, salad, pizza, pasta ... whatever!), and perhaps a picnic rug if you have one.

We will set up on the grass at the south-east corner of Hyde Park (near the corner of William and Glendower street). I'll set up a slackline so people can test out their balancing skills if they feel like a challenge. If you can't spot us, just call me on 0412 244 834 and I'll point you in the right direction.

Feel free to bring whoever you like along. Even if you have non vegan friends/family, they are most definitely welcome (but just ask them to bring a vegan dinner).

I hope to see you all there!!

How many vegans does it take to change a lightbulb?
Two. One to change it, and one to check for animal ingredients.

Yes, if you want to hear this and many more awesomely lamo jokes, come join us at our monthly picnic this Sunday!! We will set up from 1.30pm at Jubilee Park, which is just opposite City Beach. This means that whenever you get too hot (or tired of my jokes), you can just mozy on down to the beach for a refreshing swim :)

We will set up some slacklines for you to test your balance on, and also have a frisbee to play with if you're keen for a throw.

So same deal as usual - just bring your own food to munch on. And bring anyone you want along! Even if you're not vegan but just want to chill... with us, you are most definitely welcome :) We will be set up under the trees, so there'll be plenty of shade. Just call me on 0412 244 834 if you get lost. Jubilee Park is the smaller park on the corner of Jubilee Cres and Challenger Parade. We will be there until 6pm, so even if you come late, that's totally fine.

If you're new to the group and a bit nervous about meeting everyone ... don't be! We are all super friendly and uber keen to meet any newbies.

Not convinced yet? Ok, here's one more joke for the road ....

Q: What do you call a vegan post-punk band?
A: Soy Division.

Wow, these jokes are getting painful. Please come this Sunday to help save me from the lameness!!

Catchya soon :)

Roses are Red
Violets are blue
I just ate some fruit
Now I need to go poo poo

Ok, so poetry has never been my strong point, but I've been told I can organise one hell of a picnic.

So come join us this Sunday (January 11) from 1.30pm as we shoot the breeze at City Beach!! We will set up at Jubilee Park, which is just opposite City Beach. This means whenever you get too hot (or tired of my poems), you can just mozy on down to the beach for a refreshing swim.

We will also set up some slacklines for you to test your balance on, and also have a frisbee to play with if you're keen for a throw :)

So same deal as usual - just bring your own food to munch on. And bring anyone you want along! Even if you're no...t vegan but just want to chill with us, you are definitely welcome :) We will be set up under the trees, so there'll be plenty of shade. Just call me on 0412 244 834 if you get lost.

So I hope you can join us
I bet it will be really fun
I just ran out of toilet paper
So now I've got an itchy bum

Maybe I should just stick to the picnic organising lol

It's officially summer time, and that means one thing .... melon belly season!!! So come join us this Sunday from 1.30pm to show off your watermelon belly at our monthly picnic.

We will have a slackline set up for anyone keen to test their balancing skills, and I'll also bring along a frisbee, hackey sack and juggling balls for extra fun :) Or if you just want to chill out and relax, there'll be plenty of cool people to talk to. We will set up underneath some trees at Jubilee Park, which is the park opposite City Beach (same spot as last month's picnic). The beach is just across the road, so whenever we get too hot, we can go for a dip :)

Feel free to bring along whoever you want! The more the merrier. There's a playground in the park for anyone bringing kids along. And even if you're not vegan but just want to come to learn more about veganism and chill with us, then you're most definitely welcome :) Because everyone in the group eats slightly differently, just bring along your own food to munch on. There'll be plenty of shade, so you won't have to worry about getting burned.

If you get a bit lost, just call me on 0412 244 834 and I'll point you in the right direction :)

Hope to see you all there!!

Welcome Keara!! Yep we will have another meet-up in early December, so you can meet the rest of the crew then :)

Comment by Dan InTheRaw on November 12, 2014 at 5:24pm

Hey Keara. Welcome!!

We had a meet up Sunday just gone but will be having another I believe in about a months time. Best to ask Justin Shore Chadwick as he is the one who organises them usually.

Also we get our produce from the co-op we have going called Plant Foods Perth. You can order weekly from the website plantfoodsperth.org and check out facebook 'Plant Foods Perth Co-Op' for updates. 13kg boxes of organic bananas are around the $68 mark at the moment plus there are other things you can get like potatoes and greens etc in bulk...

Any questions let me know :)
