Fruity picnic this Sunday, March 15 at City Beach Park

Summer time is over, but it doesn't mean the fun has to end. So come join us this Sunday for our monthly picnic!!

We can bunch together and recall all of our memorable summer stories, like the time I got stuck in the fig tree and desperately needed to pee. Fun times indeed :)

Also, this will be Daniel Spaapen's final picnic for a fair while. He's being lured across to Cairns by the girl of his dreams, so come along to say goodbye to the man we all call Spaapen (actually, I think I'm the only one who calls him Spaapen. Everyone else calls him Dan).

Anyways, same deal as usual - just bring along your own food to eat. And if you have any friends or family who want to come, then they are most definite...ly welcome. Even if they're not vegan, that's totally fine. We will convert them for you lol

So we will set up at the usual spot - Jubilee Park at City Beach from 3pm. It's the park on the corner of Jubilee Crescent and Challenger Parade (right across the road from City Beach).

If you can't spot us, just give me a buzz on 0412 244 834 and I'll direct you to us :)

If you've never come along to one of our picnics, please come!!! We won't bite (unless we're agitated after being stuck up a fig tree while needing to pee).

Catchya all Sunday :)

hey y'all I'm from perth and about 2 weeks into the raw till 4 lifestyle but have been vegan for a couple of months and vego for almost 2 years :) keen to meet some like minded peeps so let me know if you're having a  meet up soon :)

Do you remember that movie where there were a bunch of ravenous snakes on a plane, and it got some bloke really angry because he didn't want snakes on a plane? So then he devised a plan to get rid of the snakes on the plane? I think it was called: The plane that experienced mid-flight drama that was soon resolved by a brave man.

Anyway, the main actor from that - Samuel L Jackson - has gone vegan, and what better way to celebrate than holding our monthly picnic at the beach this Sunday!!

So come along to hang out with the rest of the crew for some fun in the sun :) The forecast is for 33 degrees, so we will hold it at Jubilee Park, which is just across the road from City Beach. It's the park wher...e the organic co-op used to be last summer. We will set up under the trees for some nice shade.

Thom will also be setting up his slackline, so you can test out your balancing skills. And we will also bring along a frisbee to throw and any other fun things. Or if you prefer to just chill, you can relax on the picnic blankets. Then whenever we get too hot, we can walk across the road for a dip in the ocean :)

If you're new to the group and haven't met the peeps yet, please come along! Even if you're not vegan but just want to learn more, you are most definitely welcome :) We are all super friendly, and understand everyone is on their own unique journey. Some of us are fruit-based raw vegans, others are more into the cooked vegan side, while others are still deciding which way to go. Whatever you are, it doesn't matter, just come along and chill with some like-minded people. And because everyone eats differently, just bring along your own food to eat :)

So we will set things up around 1pm, and I'm guessing we'll be there until 5ish. There's a small playground in the park, so if you have kids, bring them along too :)

If you can't find where we are set up, just give me a buzz on 0412 244 834.

Hope to catch you all there!!

Heya Meg! Nice to meet you. It would be great if you could come along to our next picnic and meet the crew :) There's a lot of us out there now, so you are definitely not alone. And now that it's mulberry season, you can join us for a forage!!

Hey all! My name is Meg, and I'm 17 years old. I'm currently transitioning to a raw till 4 lifestyle and then hopefully a hclf raw vegan lifestyle. I'm so happy that I managed to find a group of Perth fruit bats!

So just a quick update for Sunday's picnic (October 12). It will now be held at the Synergy Parkland at King's Park instead of Trigg beach. The parkland is just on May Drive (near Saw Avenue). Just give me a buzz on 0412 244 834 if you can't spot us :) Hope to see you all there!!

What do vegan zombies eat? Grains .... GRAINS!!!

Yes, these and many other golden vegan jokes will be on offer at our monthly picnic this Sunday :) So come along, meet the crew, and have some fun in the sun! We will hold the picnic at Clarko Reserve at Trigg Beach (it's the park at the end of Karrinyup road). We will be there from 1.30pm onwards :)

So same deal as usual, just bring along your own food to munch on. And don't worry, it doesn't just have to be fruit lol. There are so many different types of eaters within the group, so whatever you feel like eating that day, that is dandy by us :)

Oh, and feel free to bring along any friends, family or pets. There's a playground in the park, so the kiddies will be able to have fun too :) Even if you're not vegan yet and just want to come along and learn more, then it will be great to meet you.

If you can't spot the group, just give me a call on 0412 244 834 and I'll point you in the right direction.

I hope to see you all there! And maybe bring some grains to feed the zombies ;)

Heya Kam! Welcome to the group :) We totally understand that everyone is at a different stage, so don't feel bad at all about not being where you want to be just yet :) We just had our monthly picnic last week, but it will be great to see you at our next one. We also do lots of other random stuff together, like hit up the beach, or go foraging for mulberries. Most of the social stuff is organised on the Fruity in WA facebook page. But I'll try to post more info on here for those who don't have facebook :)

Hello, my name is Kam and I never go on these kinds of forums, I don't even use Facebook, but I'm interested in coming along to the next gathering and meeting some like minded people! I've been vegetarian for about 2 years and mostly vegan for the past 18 months... the reason for being a little bit inconsistent is primarily social circumstances and having a non-vego partner (which is a bad excuse but just the reality for me at the moment), so I think it would be helpful to have some mates who make this lifestyle a bit easier to live. Luckily my partner is very supportive, but sometimes it can be a bit hard making separate meals and feeling 'high maintenance' and 'fussy with food' when really I just want to eat in a way that is clean and nutritious for my body and sustainable for the planet, what's so fussy about that hey? ;-) Anyway, nice to meet you via web and hopefully soon in person!

Ok, so I've been working on a special dance move this week, and would love to show it to you all this Sunday. It's called the anti-rain dance move. If I pull it off correctly, the rain will stay away while we have our monthly picnic :)

So come along to King's Park this Sunday from 1pm to join us for some fun in the sun! Instead of our usual spot at Synergy Parkland, we will meet at the park called the Pioneer Women's Memorial to make the most of the free jazz music on offer. After all, I need some good music to be able to pull of this extraordinary dance move ;)

Legend has it that only two men have ever attempted the anti-rain dance move before - Superman and Chuck Norris. They did it in a dance-...off. The loser had to wear their underwear on the outside.

Anyways, back to the picnic ... everyone is welcome! Even if you're not vegan yet, please still come along and meet the crew :) And because everyone has their own specific dietary preferences, just bring along your own food to munch on to make things easier.

We will set up maybe around 60m in front of the music stage. We will be the group surrounded by heaps of fruit lol. But if you can't spot us, just give me a call on 0412 244 834 and I can point you in the right direction :)

The Pioneer Women's Memorial park is along Forrest Drive, overlooking the Swan River. There's a big fountain in the middle, and the grass is quite sloped. It's quite easy to find. Here is a map for it. http://www.bgpa.wa.gov.au/kings-park/events/events-calendar/location/3-pioneer-women-s-memorial

If you get lost, Chuck Norris can help guide you in the right direction. Did you know that Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding?

I hope to see you all Sunday!!!
