Fruity picnic this Sunday, December 7!!

It's officially summer time, and that means one thing .... melon belly season!!! So come join us this Sunday from 1.30pm to show off your watermelon belly at our monthly picnic.

We will have a slackline set up for anyone keen to test their balancing skills, and I'll also bring along a frisbee, hackey sack and juggling balls for extra fun :) Or if you just want to chill out and relax, there'll be plenty of cool people to talk to. We will set up underneath some trees at Jubilee Park, which is the park opposite City Beach (same spot as last month's picnic). The beach is just across the road, so whenever we get too hot, we can go for a dip :)

Feel free to bring along whoever you want! The more the merrier. There's a playground in the park for anyone bringing kids along. And even if you're not vegan but just want to come to learn more about veganism and chill with us, then you're most definitely welcome :) Because everyone in the group eats slightly differently, just bring along your own food to munch on. There'll be plenty of shade, so you won't have to worry about getting burned.

If you get a bit lost, just call me on 0412 244 834 and I'll point you in the right direction :)

Hope to see you all there!!

What do vegan zombies eat? Grains .... GRAINS!!!

Yes, these and many other golden vegan jokes will be on offer at our monthly picnic this Sunday :) So come along, meet the crew, and have some fun in the sun! We will hold the picnic at Clarko Reserve at Trigg Beach (it's the park at the end of Karrinyup road). We will be there from 1.30pm onwards :)

So same deal as usual, just bring along your own food to munch on. And don't worry, it doesn't just have to be fruit lol. There are so many different types of eaters within the group, so whatever you feel like eating that day, that is dandy by us :)

Oh, and feel free to bring along any friends, family or pets. There's a playground in the park, so the kiddies will be able to have fun too :) Even if you're not vegan yet and just want to come along and learn more, then it will be great to meet you.

If you can't spot the group, just give me a call on 0412 244 834 and I'll point you in the right direction.

I hope to see you all there! And maybe bring some grains to feed the zombies ;)

Heya Kam! Welcome to the group :) We totally understand that everyone is at a different stage, so don't feel bad at all about not being where you want to be just yet :) We just had our monthly picnic last week, but it will be great to see you at our next one. We also do lots of other random stuff together, like hit up the beach, or go foraging for mulberries. Most of the social stuff is organised on the Fruity in WA facebook page. But I'll try to post more info on here for those who don't have facebook :)

Hello, my name is Kam and I never go on these kinds of forums, I don't even use Facebook, but I'm interested in coming along to the next gathering and meeting some like minded people! I've been vegetarian for about 2 years and mostly vegan for the past 18 months... the reason for being a little bit inconsistent is primarily social circumstances and having a non-vego partner (which is a bad excuse but just the reality for me at the moment), so I think it would be helpful to have some mates who make this lifestyle a bit easier to live. Luckily my partner is very supportive, but sometimes it can be a bit hard making separate meals and feeling 'high maintenance' and 'fussy with food' when really I just want to eat in a way that is clean and nutritious for my body and sustainable for the planet, what's so fussy about that hey? ;-) Anyway, nice to meet you via web and hopefully soon in person!

Ok, so I've been working on a special dance move this week, and would love to show it to you all this Sunday. It's called the anti-rain dance move. If I pull it off correctly, the rain will stay away while we have our monthly picnic :)

So come along to King's Park this Sunday from 1pm to join us for some fun in the sun! Instead of our usual spot at Synergy Parkland, we will meet at the park called the Pioneer Women's Memorial to make the most of the free jazz music on offer. After all, I need some good music to be able to pull of this extraordinary dance move ;)

Legend has it that only two men have ever attempted the anti-rain dance move before - Superman and Chuck Norris. They did it in a dance-...off. The loser had to wear their underwear on the outside.

Anyways, back to the picnic ... everyone is welcome! Even if you're not vegan yet, please still come along and meet the crew :) And because everyone has their own specific dietary preferences, just bring along your own food to munch on to make things easier.

We will set up maybe around 60m in front of the music stage. We will be the group surrounded by heaps of fruit lol. But if you can't spot us, just give me a call on 0412 244 834 and I can point you in the right direction :)

The Pioneer Women's Memorial park is along Forrest Drive, overlooking the Swan River. There's a big fountain in the middle, and the grass is quite sloped. It's quite easy to find. Here is a map for it. http://www.bgpa.wa.gov.au/kings-park/events/events-calendar/location/3-pioneer-women-s-memorial

If you get lost, Chuck Norris can help guide you in the right direction. Did you know that Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding?

I hope to see you all Sunday!!!

 Eating mangoes in the sunshine!!

Ok, now that I've got your attention, just thought I'd let you know that our monthly picnic will be held this Sunday (August 3) at King's Park. A bunch of us will be there from 1pm, and it will run until about 4.30pm. If you can't spot us, just call me (Justin) on 0412 244 834 and I'll point you in the right direction. Isabelle (0437 183 551) will also be on hand :)

The forecast is looking really good - 20 degrees and sunny. So come out for some fun in the sun!! It's the same deal as usual: just bring your own food to munch on, and enjoy the good times :)

To make it extra fun, we will be holding it at the big Synergy Parkland playground at King's Park (where we were last time). There's lots of grassy areas to chill out on, as well as playgrounds for the littlies/big kids.

It's been great to meet so many new members over the past year. We are all super friendly and understanding that everyone's on their own journey, so please come along even if you're not fully on the vegan lifestyle yet. Everyone is welcome :)

Hope to see you all there!!

Are you Superman? hehe. Welcome aboard :)  We will be having a picnic next Sunday (August 10) at King's Park (if it's not raining), so hopefully we can meet you then! We also do other random social meet-ups like bike rides, fruit foraging, doco nights etc :)
