So with all this newfound energy and increased activity, my body wants so much more sleep than I'm able to provide. Do any parents here have any tips for maximizing rest or catching more Z's? I feel like it's the last frontier on my health issues. I get 8-9 hours a night but am very active, home with 3 kids and feeling like I could easily put away 10-11 a night. My kids sleep about 11, I'm so jealous!

My youngest still sleeps with us and my husband works long hours. So, I go to sleep with my son around 9pm. I am up at about 7:30 am. I just love laying in bed with him with the summer breeze coming in through the window. It is so peaceful and relaxing. What is keeping you from going down earlier? Or, is it that you rise very early?
Well, my oldest goes to bed around 8:15 and this time before bed is really my only time to spend with my husband. He goes to work at 6:30am. There are times I just go to bed right after the kids, like tonight for instance! But if I do that I will literally never see him. This time of year he works weekends too. Most mornings I sleep as late as I can before kids say they're hungry. Usually one or three of them will hop in my bed. But I just feel like with the energy used in being a present parent, coupled with all the newfound activities I want to do becuase of all this energy and good feeling, that I need more.
AFter I wrote this I felt bad that other parents of really young ones would read this and think, "9 hours!?! you wench!!!" Ha I'm sure you know what I mean.
