ah, gotcha. thanks for the tips. i'd like to go down there especially as i will be on a budget starting very soon, but i don't know if it would be worth it to drive from seattle (~1 hour away) :(

Don't buy the mangoes. Every time we buy them they end up being no good. :(. I would avoid avocados too - same problem. The soft fruit ends up way too bruised. Haven't had any problem with anything else though! We go twice a week and get great stuff! :).

anyone want to ride with me to tacoma and split gas to hit up valley liquidation? according to facebook posts dated an hour ago, they have 50 cent organic mangoes, 69 cent green leaf lettuce, and 50 pound boxes of potatoes for 6.99

I've been getting them from trader joe's. although you can't buy them by the crate, they're quite cheap there. mine ripened in my room in 5-6 days

The free fruit giveaway in Olympia!  They have virtually unlimited free organic bananas.

so where are y'all getting your bananas lately? I usually get boxes from McPherson's when I'm able to borrow the work van, but lately theirs haven't been the best quality, the last box turned spotty when the ends were still green, and they didn't ripen all the same, it was weird and sad. I just want to eat delicious naners!
