Comment by Derek Holmes on April 5, 2012 at 2:10pm Charlie's produce is a wholesaler that has some pretty good prices on produce. I got a business license just for the purpose of being able to buy from them and it's going to save me tons. The general business license is only $15 a year. I just picked up 1 case of bananas, 2 cases of oranges, 2 cases of mangoes, and a case of mini watermelons for $130. I am also thinking about coordinating with the 30baders in the area soon to put together a bulk order once a week or so where we can put in a large order and then all meet there and pick up what we order. That way multiple people don't have to have business licenses. If anybody is interested in that let me know.
Comment by Eli on April 5, 2012 at 1:05pm Cashul, Albertsons plaza on bridgeport has ripe bananas that are literally 29 cents a lb. Costco is amazing for mangoes and a lot of other fruit. Trader Joes has dates for 3.70 a pound right now. Tacoma boys is sometimes great too especially during fall when apples are so cheap. I typically go shopping once or twice a week. I've tried going to wholesalers in the area but unfortunately they only care for businesses..
Comment by Cashul Bell on April 5, 2012 at 6:57am I'm from the Tacoma area, anyone know a good place to buy in bulk? Or anywhere to purchase practical amounts of food for a week that won't break the bank?
