30 Bananas a Day!

I will be hosting monthly HCRV meetups for us to meet one another, share our experiences and support each other.  This is a great opportunity for us to create a community where we can get to know others who share our love of fruit, and address some of the challenges that we may face as a result of choosing to live HCRV in a omnivorous world.

At the meetings, we will discuss topics from the 80/10/10 Diet book, specifically addressing one or more of Dr. Graham's 32 Elements of Health, and whatever other topics people wish to discuss.  My hope is that we will be able to create mentoring relationships, and to support each other as we face the realities of being HCRV.

Our first meeting will be Saturday, March 31 at my place in Seattle (Capitol Hill - 12th and John).  Any suggestions on the time would be greatly appreciated - any time after 11:00 am works for me.   There is space for about 15 people.  I am giving first priority to 30 BAD members... If we still have space after next week, I will post it to the Raw Network of WA meetup group, so let me know if you can make it.  I will send you the street address by private message.

I hope you can all make it, and I look forward to meeting you!

Sorry to have missed this one, but I'd be interested in future events, although I sometimes work on Saturdays with short notice, so I can't make any promises. I really want to meet local fruity people!

This sounds great. I was in Arizona on March 31st but am looking forward to the next one. Please include me in your next email. Thanks.

Our next meetup will be on Saturday, April 28 at 4:00 pm at my place on Capitol Hill.  Last month the six of us had a great discussion followed by some yummy smoothies and delicious veggies and dip.   I hope we can get even more people this time.   We will follow the same format - discussion followed by sharing some delicious hcrv food and smoothies.

For our discussion this month, each person should share an inspirational quote, reading, mediation, blog entry, poem, etc. that has helped you on your journey toward a better life and improved health.   It could be just about anything, and doesn't need to be related directly to your diet or physical health.  If you do not want to bring anything to share, that's ok...maybe we could just sit in silent mediation for a few minutes and focus on our breathing.

After the discussion we will break out the blender and have smoothies and share in whatever people bring.  Maybe someone will be willing to bring along their vitamix?  Feel free to bring smoothie makings, and/or something else to share with the group.  No need to bring plates or utensils - I have plenty.

I changed the start time because last month people had to move their cars after two hours.  Please let me know if there are other days or times that would work for you.  I want to make this something that is accessible to everyone.

Yours in Health,

Kristine

Kristine,

I'm planning on coming next Saturday (April 28th).  Can you give me directions to your place?  I have been working with an awesome mentor back in Michigan who has been raw for about 10 years and has worked and fasted with Dr. Graham.  I have some great material she has given me that I would love to share with the group.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Hi Amy,

I sent you a message with my address.  See you on Saturday!

Hi Kristine,

What a good idea!  I quit drinking 5 yrs ago using AA as a support group.  I've been trying to be vegan for about 4 years, but can't seem to find a support group (at least, I use that as my excuse).  I'd love to come.  I'm in Snohomish and riding buses, so I could use a couple day's advance notice to work out my transportation schedule.

One of my issues is borderline Type II diabetes.  In fact, I'm 68 y/o and all the obesity-related, chronic, degenerative diseases are issues with me.  Most people think the problem is aging, but I believe it is diet (SAD).

Lee Mack

Hi Lee,

I can send you a message after you reply to the friend request I sent you.  If you are coming from Snohomish, the easiest way on the bus would probably be to go to Everett, then take the 510 to downtown and get off at Stewart St and Denny (1st stop in downtown) to catch the #8, or get off at 5th and Pine to catch the #43, 49 or 10 to Capitol Hill. The 8 and 43 stop right in front of my place, and the others are a 3 block walk.

I look forward to meeting you.

Is there going to be another meetup?
