30 Bananas a Day!

Buying in bulk: are Trader Joe's and Fred Meyer seriously the cheapest places? [King County]

A box of orgo bananas runs about ~$29 at TJs.  Charlie's Produce sells for $35! I thought they were supposed to be wholesale...???

I know this thread has been started before, but I feel like there MUST be some cheap ORGANIC produce around the Sound!  Anyone watch Megan McDonnell/Easy to be Raw's youtube videos? She gets some huh-MAzin' deals on overripe mangoes, strawberries, cukes, etc. I know they are out there... anybody work for a restaurant?

The price of cukes and mangoes kills me.  There has to be a better way.  I will update when I get more wholesale prices from Charlie's, although I have a feeling they won't be that good.  Someone said as much in another thread.

Please post your tips here! Thanks!!

Honestly though,  I haven't been to impressed with Costco's produce, especially their bananas. Whenever I'd buy them they never seem to ripen properly.

If the bananas were chilled at any point they won't ripen well. The Everett Costco generally has good bananas in my experience and it's where I get most of mine now. Also, the organic salad greens can't be beat and right now they have a great price on organic Fuji apples < 1$ per lb
