Hey everyone in NYC, I hope you can make our talk on the 11th. Would be great to meet you all.
New York Talk
Thanks for the advice Bart, I haven't been in the city too often lately but I'll check it out again next time I'm there.
Bogi, my Dr. advised tanning beds since I'm severely deficient in Vitamin D. I've decided it sounds too risky though, so I'll be sticking to natural sunlight, at least for now:)
It's beautiful and sunny here in NYC, why do you need tanning salon?
I'm in NY for a couple of weeks & was just wondering if anyone shops at the Union Sq. farmers market? I was there the other day & it seems pretty decent, didn't ask about prices though. Anyone recommend it?
Also, on a completely different note, does anyone know of any NYC tanning salons that use beds with UVB (for VitD production) ?
I've lived in NYC for years so I know the area well, I just wasn't raw or vegan at the time, nor was I eating much fruit, so I never paid attention to any of those places. Any particular farmer's markets I should check out in the city? I'll be on a budget, so just want to make sure I'll be able to get enough fruit at decent prices.
Thanks again for all the info & for keeping me in mind :)
The NYC area is pretty good with getting fruit. In manhattan, and much of queens and brooklyn, there are plenty of grocery stores, bodegas, fruit stands and the like. If you're in queens, jamaica has pletny of asian street markets.
I'll keep ya in mind if I hear of any roommates needed in the 'hood :)
Hi guys! I'm (tentatively) planning on visiting NY sometime in the summer for a few weeks, I'll probably be in Long Island or Brooklyn or both, anyone know of any good places to buy cheap fruit? I don't need a warehouse per se, just a good farmer's market with decent selection & prices.
ALSO: I'm considering possibly moving back to NY for the Fall 2011 semester, probably to Brooklyn (I'd love to live in the city but I don't think I can afford it) Anyone in the area looking for a roommate starting around August? Need something with reasonable rent, centrally located near shopping/produce etc. Please let me know if you know of anything! Would love to live with other young raw vegans :) Thanks!
