Ok, so this is slightly humorous haha. We're not gonna focus on hating nanas here, just on sharing our common dislike for them...AND strategies to survive on 811 without nanas, especially when we're without a lotta money, and whatever else...

So my roommate hates the smell of bananas and she doesn't let me have them in the room. I am moving out at the semester but that is a month away. I have been eating lots of dates in the mean time. …Continue

I just realized, after buying 40-pound case after 40-pound case of bananas, that I'm so not into them. I've been super fatigued, acne-ridden, and just not having fun on HCRV. I have been eating melon…Continue

I actually LIKE bananas! but lately, something has happened: I get a REALLY bad stomach ache after eating more than 4 bananas. It's really weird. I have normally a very strong stomach, lived in Africa, been in India many times... so this is not good news as bananas as so easy to find, cheap, filling. I still think that i might be able to eat just 1 or 2... I really don't know the reason for this... developing an allergy...? hope not.
Comment by Andrea on August 7, 2012 at 7:46am i have no idea if it's just me. I do drink 3Liters of water each day and have early nights. Bananas seem to make me really tired and sleepy. On the contrary, I would feel tons of energy when I eat juicy fruits. And i just feel so tired of their texture and taste. I just have no choice yet of giving them up as I'm on a tight budget at the moment. Mangoes, melons, oranges, any sweet and juicy fruit are my favorites. I feel like I'm a superhuman when I eat them. Now just to add more taste and texture, I just deal with eating bananas through smoothies and I add celery to them. That's the only way I can tolerate them as of the moment.
Comment by Athena on April 24, 2012 at 6:57am Bananas and citrus-fruits are the only fruits that I can't eat. I find bananas too gushy and their appearance bothers me a bit too. :-/ However I only ate them as unsweetened banana chips, but not anymore since they're tabu in LFRV. I also ate them plain and frozen.
Can anyone tell me if eating frozen bananas - or any frozen fruit - is okay? Sorry, I'm still somewhat new and exploring LFRV....
Comment by Karmyn on March 3, 2012 at 7:58am Smiley's fruit market is right across from the road leading to beach lots in Kapoho. She's there Fridays from about 9am to 3pm, I think. You will see her sign on the right it's something like "GreenMarket."
Comment by Rachael Renee Gerkensmeyer on March 2, 2012 at 2:04pm Hey Karmyn,
Am I missing out or what?! I don't think I even know what Smiley's fruit market is. I'd love to learn more!
Comment by Karmyn on March 2, 2012 at 1:46pm Aloha Rachael,
I'm a greedy PIG! I bought all of them from Bob last week (and the week before). Pam sometimes has them. Also Smiley! Smiley's fruit market is tomorrow ...
