The few.
The (often) rural.
The Midwest vegans.
I've often felt alone in my fruity adventure out here in the very middle of the Midwest. Thought it might be nice for us middle of the country peeps to network :)

Comment by Mel Vanzuiden on April 8, 2013 at 2:55am Hello from Iowa on the Mississippi, I'm in the Quad-Cities but soon moving to Morrison, IL (very very rural small place). Just wanted to say hello because it doesn't seem like there's many of us around. I'm new to 80/10/10 - just finished my first week and it would be nice to have some supportive people to keep me going!
Comment by Connor Cordell on April 2, 2013 at 1:55am Welcome Becky! I'm from Owatonna (southern Minnesota) but I'm off at school in Sioux Falls SD. Us and the other MN peeps should get together sometime in the summer!
Comment by Becky on April 2, 2013 at 1:53am Hi there, I'm in Minnesota and I just started Raw Till 4 today! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I've been eating plant based for about 1 1/2 years and wanted to get more raw so I'm tryin it :)
Comment by 80/10/10grl on March 16, 2013 at 12:42pm wow thanks Rocbola! Can I pick your brain as it gets closer to my move? I def. want to have good sources set up already. Thanks so much!
Comment by Rocbola on March 16, 2013 at 12:19pm I live in the town right next to Lombard (Wheaton). In the summer time, there are TONS of farmers markets within 15 miles.
For now, check out a store called "Valli Produce" in Glendale Heights. (GH borders lombard) Their selection is incredible and their prices are some of the best around for the quality. That's where i go for mangoes by the case, several varieties.
There is a Whole Foods Market in Wheaton; they are expensive but organic produce is always there, and their organic cantaloupe is great when it's available.
There are several Asian places that sell Asian variety fruits that you can't find in grocery stores. One by me sells fruit smoothies, too.
There are tons of other great places around, it depends on how far you want to drive. You will not go without fruit and veg in this area. I miss all the selection i get around here whenever i go back home to Iowa.
Comment by 80/10/10grl on March 16, 2013 at 10:30am hey midwesterners...I'm going to be moving from Iowa to Lombard, IL in May and am having trouble finding local produce there. All I've had is google searches though.
Anyone in the Lombard-ish area have any tips?
