if your lookin' to make *nutritious* soil, musn't forget the minerals(!) - that's right...fills the food with high calcium and all the rest:

Ashley, from the picture I think you should plant a windbreak of local easy to grow, preferably not too tall shrubs and trees to protect your young orchard all around the site.

I am sure I did this backwards with planting fruit trees before swales but I got excited and I am waiting on money to buy the small scale permaculture book..but its a start!

this is the only one that i have found that you can do online/by correspondance. I like the way you can pay as you go with Permaculture Visions.
