Hello everyone!  I've been a vegetarian for years but am new to the HCRV lifestyle.  Keen to get to know others on the same journey.  I'm from Newcastle.  :)

Please get behind Steve Marsh a WA farmer who had his crop of organic canola contaminated by the GM canola of his neighbor, using Monsanto crops!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YpQHuUT... is a short video about it.

Maybe we could organize something on change.org, I'm not sure.

Hi Siren Bird - thanks for the info!  Any chance of getting the link to the FB page?  There's a lot of 'Weedeater' (the band) pages but none that I can find for foraging in Australia :)

Hey Fellow Fruity Australian's!

The fruit feasting and awesome activities is happening!
The purpose of the meet up is to connect, encourage and share our local experiences and favourite fruit sources with others new to the lifestyle and old.

Details are as follows:

Date: Sunday, 2 February 2014

Time: 11.00am

Location: Musgrave Park, West End, Brisbane

Meeting Point: Corner of Cordelia and Russell St, West End
(Easy to get to by Train, Bus, Bike, Walk or Car)
Look for the 'stooge' (me) wearing the Galapogas hat (picture attached)

Activities: Anything and Everything (or nothing, your choice!)
I'll bring a soccer ball. Feel free to bring whatever you like; cricket gear, football, slack-line, frisbee, hoola-hoops, pokemon cards...

Food: Everyone to bring a meal for themselves and a fruit meal to share (fresh fruit straight from nature is fine)
(Please leave a comment with what fruit you will bring so we don't end up with all of the same thing)

If the weather isn't looking good the day before, I'll make a call by 8am on Sunday to let everyone know if it'll still be on or not.

Please find our group on Facebook - 'Fruity in Queensland', then:
Please hit like, leave comments and share this event with whoever your heart desires to share it with. If sharing with others, ask them to join the 'Fruity in Queensland' group so they can stay up to date with the details.

This is a fruit (and veg) based day. I hope you can all make it to share the love!

Cheers,
Jason xx

Hi guys,

We're from Melbourne and need to move to a warmer climate before winter comes again!

We eat only fruit for breakfast and lunch, so it's a huge part of our lifestyle.

Which city is better for fruit - Perth or Brisbane? Yes Brisbane is warmer, but Harley says most of QLD's good fruit is sent down south anyway.

And we need to move to a large capital city for work, so it can't be Cairns for example. Advice??.... where would you move if you had a choice??  We've heard living in Perth is super expensive, this could be a factor to consider when living HCRV. What do you all think??

Thanks :)

Hi Vinnie, thats sounds like an awesome idea. Are you thinking a week long festival or just 1 day or several days? Also if your saying summer, do you mean in the next 2 months or next years summer? What about at the Glass House Mountains? I have never been there but I have been told they are really nice and have camping grounds, walking tracks and stuff.
