Hi people! Im Jacquelyn and I live in South Wales UK. Anyone near to me? x
Love the name ..:) I agree Plymouth isn't that far either, a few hours I believe? Being that I am from California, driving for a few hours to get somewhere isn't really that far at all.
Keep in touch.
Hi Sam, sorry for the delay..
No, Worcester isn't too far :) I hope you enjoyed wales the other week, I think the weather was lovely if I recall correctly.
Do you find it difficult maintaining LFRV lifestyle? x
Coming to Newport this April. I was in Newport in August. Aldi, Lidl, Tesco were my daily fruit haunts. I would walk to the stores with my shopping (wheelie bag) always full of great bargains and delicious fruit. The store employees raised a few eyebrows at first, but got used to me quickly enough. I particularly enjoyed the victoria plums last August. Boy were they good. I wonder what will be available in April.
Not quite Wales, but I've just set up a group for anyone interested in pot lucks in Bristol! http://groupspaces.com/LowFatRawVeganPotlucksBristol/ and those with facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Low-Fat-Raw-Potlucks-Bristol/23917337...
Sure I'll let you know when we arrange something!
I chose groupspace because it's free, unfortunately for meetups.com you have to pay a monthly group fee.
Hey Jacquelyn, I am in Trimsaran ;-)
Hi Jacquelyn and people, I live in Penarth, next to Cardiff
Ok thanks Loulou, 811Cardiff thats good to know.
I'm working on becoming a LFRV. Right now I'm just getting used to being vegan and I'm eating about 50% raw. I'm in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire and would love to get in contact with anyone in the area. I don't know any other vegans round here!
For anyone who might be interested, there is a great shop in Lampeter called The Organic Fresh Food Company and I buy wholesale boxes of bananas there (organic and fairtrade) for £23 a box.
Where do you get your fruit from in Wales?
That shop sounds good. I buy from Splott market in Cardiff. As I can buy ripe produce really cheap. Not usually organic though, but the last three weeks I've been able to buy ripe Organic Fairtrade Bananas for £8.50 a box! (one of the boxes of bananas were a bit dry though, so used them in smoothies). Canary Island tomatoes £3 a box.
I've also been to 'Claire road food store' once in grange town, it's an amazing indian shop, where you can buy some fresh produce including different varieties of banana which taste so good like 'apple banana' (mini ones) and ripe plantaine £3.50 per kg.
Hi Georgie, I live in Penarth, And I'm happy to be in contact. I've been LFRV for about 2 months now, the first month I was easing into it. Previous to that I was vegan for three years so that could of made it easier.
