Comment by Diane on January 19, 2013 at 5:49pm Hey there,
My entire family is Swedish, but I was raised in the states. I'm currently trying to teach myself Swedish... does anyone out there speak Swedish/English for exchange possibly? :)
Comment by Elisheba on December 19, 2012 at 9:22pm I speak French, English and Romanian.
Comment by Troy Santos on November 19, 2012 at 2:39am }* ... I like your iconography. Cool. Waarrmm!! I'm in a province called Ubon, near the border with Laos. Pai is nice, but I also prefer the warmth! The mountains now are too cold for me. I lived in the mountains of Chiang Mai, at 800 meters, for two years, three winters. Though the early mornings were bitterly cold (for me) around 10 am it was already really warm. Midday, even in winter, was hot just the same. There are enough tourists in Pai that many Thais know some English. I'm sure you're able to communicate most of your daily needs. How are things going anyway?
}* means i'm going toward the light and sun lol :) After dark winters of sweden, i dream of sun and fruits... Yes I really understand that pronunciation is important... Where in Thailand are you? I'm in Pai, planning to stay in north for a while, leaving thailand in the beginning of next year . And yes, we are in the land of smiles :)
Comment by Troy Santos on November 17, 2012 at 11:10pm HIYA Jen}* First off, what's with the }* anyway? And, sure, I can help with some basic Thai. Whaddya wanna know? Keep in mind, that in my mind, pronunciation is important. Getting the pronunciation skewed will sometimes skew the meaning, and Thais may misunderstand, sometimes they'll get it. LIke any language. Don't know why, but I'm a stickler about pronunciation. And ... smiling. That so often greases things. Smile ... smile ... smile.
So, yeah, whatever you wanna ask, shoot me.
hi, would like to learn some very basic thai. Troy Santos, if you see this, and would like to share some of your knowledge in thai, please contact me. (I also speak swedish, and maybe would like to learn some german as well...)
Comment by Troy Santos on October 19, 2012 at 3:02am I live in Thailand and am pretty fluent. If anyone's interested to learn some survival Thai, or to go deeper, I'd be glad to help. I'd hoped there would be a Thai in this group, but I'm certainly not surprised that there aren't any Thais in the group. Thais are very unfamiliar with raw diets. I think there is only one book on the subject in Thai, and, I think it was only very recently released.
