Hello everyone, I'm starting a challenge myself this Saturday(7/7), I've been eating a LOT of added salt lately and really too much fat. I've even slipped up once and ate something that contained powdered SOY MILK!!!!! UGHHH!!!! I've been too leanient lately and not being as strict and aware as I should be! My challenge is this:
First and Foremost, absolutely NO ANIMAL products, literally check every label twice if you must!
Get 8-10 hours of sleep EVERY night
Try to play outside everyday for vitamin D
Less than 10% fat calories each day
No added salts (I know, tough one), only those naturally occuring
Strictly: 2 fruit meals and 1 cooked meal
No fried foods, of course
Plenty of water (I aim for 1.5 gallons most days, but some people do less)
I'll be tracking my progress here, so you can follow and keep me on track if you'd like:) Also if anyone wants to join me I'd love the company. Anyone who's joining me can also give me ideas on the vital things I've missed. Thanks everyone! I won't let you all down!

Permalink Reply by J on July 6, 2012 at 9:58pm Hi everyone, I'm interested. I'm coming from mostly SAD but vegetarian diet with a few attempts at going fully raw. For some reason, it wasn't clicking in terms of calories/meal and then salad at night (I know, silly!).... I was mostly grazing through the day on fruit and then got overwhelmed in how to make a salad tasty (too many dressing recipes, didn't know where to start). And, my taste buds weren't such that a 'salad' tasted good. Whereas, I can eat plain potatoes/rice/pasta and enjoy.
I really want to make the shift to 100% raw -- but, maybe doing more of a transition like this will be encouraging.
Is anyone going to try and make "one" day fully raw out of the week and then try to do "two" days the next week, etc? Just curious. Or, are people mostly going to try staying cooked for dinner meal?
I was hoping Freelee would start another 30-day raw challenge -- but, I haven't heard that she is. Has anyone?
(I'll try to ask her somehow.)
Thanks for starting this post!!!!
Permalink Reply by Ashlee on July 7, 2012 at 12:46pm Yes ma'am, I too was interested in Freelee's challenge but my budget still won't allow me to spend the money on an all fruit diet. I definately would like to do a day of fully raw each week as well, I find that I do feel more aware and just better on a 100% raw diet. If not for the money issue, I would be 100% raw. Also, if you've seen some of freelee's recipe videos that's a great place to find awesome food ideas, not to mention just anywhere on this site(ITS AMAZING how many recipes and food varieties there are) there's pasta recipes made from squash, dessert recipes made from the sweetest fruits, and savory raw soups and much more. But if you'd like to join us, we'd love to have you. I believe most of us do desire to be fully raw, but for individual or financial reasons we just can't at the moment.
Welcome, and we're happy to have you:)

Its good to have this challenge with you guys, as i wanna be concistent with this. Ive been trying to eat 1 cooked meal a day for half a year now, but recently it was starting to be more like 2 meals cooked and not feeling so well. I had eating disorder before and now i have been very consistent with my calories, not restricting anything, because i just know it will lead to binge after...i try to help my body to speed up metabolism thats why i try to eat more frequently and to not get very hungry, so i aim for 6 meals a day. Also i started with Insanity Workout program two weeks ago. I love it! It is really insane workout:P but i like that i can do it at home and really get my sweat out! I try to drink at least 3 liters of water for metabolism and i just feel better and lighter and feel like unwanted stuff coming out every time i go to pee :D Looking forward to see your posts :)
Permalink Reply by Ashlee on July 7, 2012 at 12:16pm Elisa, I also had an eating disorder before this lifestyle. I've been everywhere between annorexia and bulimia and purging with diahrretics and many other things. But instead of being sad about it now, I look positive towards it because it got me to where I am now:) I can't deny that it was me who did it to myself, and I'm definately paying for it now, but I wouldn't be here today if I wasn't meant to be happy with myself and find a perfect nutrition plan for myself. We've came a long way, all of us who have experienced eating disorders. And we're gonna reach greater heights than we thought by eating this way:)
Also, what really helps me is to know that I can eat whatever I want and how much I want. It's heaven:)
