30 Bananas a Day!

Hey folks, I am not fully raw yet but about 80%, I have been interested in the lifestyle for my acne and because I love fruit. My mom told me today that she finds that oranges make her break out, and I have been eating lots of oranges and my skin has gotten progressively worse the last couple weeks. Does anyone else find oranges make them break out? I'm not saying this is definitely whats causing mine, just want to know if this is common?

by the way the only reason my skin is nice in my picture is because thats when I was using Proactiv... and was not vegan then ( about a year ago ), but now I am not using Proactiv and am vegan

Your body is trying to get rid of toxins through your skin. It can also be caused by using makeup and cosmetic products.

I know that my acne is part of a detox in my body, and I have switched to only using a natural vegan and cruelty free face exfoliant by Desert Essence that moisturizes too to help slough off dead skin cells, and I  have been using only Zuzu luxe liquid oil free foundation (which is cruelty free & vegan too) on my face because I am very embarassed of my skin when I go out, but whenever I am at home, I don't put it on. Do you really think those products would really be making it worse?

-Thanks

When I started to eat low fat mainly raw vegan diet I decided to stop using anything on my skin because it just slows down the cleaning process. I started using just water, very rarely pure aloe vera juice, dry brushing and from the beginning it got definitely worse. I was quite depressed but kept doing it and now my skin is clear. Just when I do not combine well, not drink enough or I'm under big stress it is more red and I have few pimples.

You should ask yourself if you want to keep using cosmetics in the future or you want to be 100% natural:) It's definitely good step that you are using vegan cosmetics now. But If you have pimples or blemishes now I'd recommend to let your skin breathe-so no foundation. You can try using just some kind of herbal water to clean your face.  I understand you feel embarassed of your skin now...I had very bad skin for more than 2 years(it looked terrible even with concealers, foundation and powder). It was healed with some medicaments and on LFRV diet acne came back so I had to go through this over. It helped me to not focus on my visage and not look to mirror too often, just trying to be positive and confident. And then..it started to disapper and I felt proud of myself that I was able to go out with red skin or pimples! Who cares, friends/family will like you even with the worst skin ever:)

Also what is great to speed up skin-cleaning is sweating and sleep. Aim for 12h of sleep a day(I know sometimes it is not possible but it really helps) and regular running/cycling/dancing whatever you prefer.

I don't think any kind of fruit causes acne, just some people are sensitive to tomatoes so you can try avoiding them.

If you have any other question, i'll be happy to answer it:)

Oh that sounds incredible thank you so much! I will definitely try to slowly cut out the foundation. I do love exercising so doing more shouldn't be an issue as I want to anyway for summer! I have been able to get more sleep lately now that school is over so hopefully I can keep getting more and napping when I can.

For dry brushing, is it as easy as just doing circular motions with it on your face with no water? and do you cleanse your face with water before or after you dry brush?

Also, I know it will be different for everyone, but how long did you find it took for your acne to heal?

Thinking I'll go to work today without makeup on! Im going to be in the water anyways (swim instructor) so it would wash off anyways!

-Thanks a bunch! :)

I dry brush in the morning(if I don't go out for a run, because then my skin is sweaty and red so it will just irritate it when brushing) with circular motion, then I go to the shower and wash it with slightly warm water and then with cold water to close the pores.

It was healed very gradually...during I guess 5 months, I know it sounds very long but during that time I learned proper food combining, eating more, having more sleep and regular sweating. If you will do all these things right from the beginning it will take less:) I wasn't 100% from the beginning so it slowered it, when I went 100% for more than 30 days it started to heal faster. I also started visiting tanning place then so it helped a lot. Sunshine is very important for health of your skin and if you can't get enough of natural one(30+min a day) tanning bed is an option:)

Enjoy your day without any makeup on, you're still beautiful:)

Thanks a bunch this really helps! And it is starting to get warmer and sunnier out here (victoria BC) so I will be spending more time outside, I have always found the sun helps with my skin. I will definitely be trying to go 100% very soon!

-Thanks :)
