I have stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to my lymph nodes and liver. Am trying to make the change over to vegan diet.

Watching a documentary on the Gerson Therapy completely and I mean completely rocked my world.  It led me back the world of vegetarianism.  Then I read Brendan Brazier's THRIVE books and went vegan.  And ultimately I found Dr. Doug Graham and I am pushing ahead.  I have been on a whirlwind of health and wellness knowledge seeking for 2 years.  At age 20 I have had my own health issues.  I had a tumor in my ear when I was 2.  I had 7 surgeries from the age of 2.5 to 6.  And then for most of my life growing up I suffered from allergies and sinus issues.  Those have since been completely reduced and I would venture to say almost cured.  The vegan lifestyle helped, and the raw lifestyle is really helping.  Like all illnesses I believe cancer to be curable.

Hello B,jaia.  Very good to hear from you again!  You seem to make more sense than 90% of the people I've talked with in the last few years!

Well, I will check out the Gerson program, as you suggest.  My problem right now is that I'm living in poverty (on Social Security, that is) and I'd like to avoid spending any money that I don't have to spend.  This group is very good for that.  And, at present, my doctor at the V.A. is telling me that I don't have cancer...but I don't trust doctors--especially "for-profit" doctors, if you know what I mean.

It seems possible--but improbable--that I had cancer two years ago and now I don't, which is what my doctor says.  What makes more sense to me is that my doctor is playing games with me and I don't know what to think!

In any case, I believe that it is wise for me to do everything I can do to arrest and reverse obesity-related, chronic, degenerative diseases; like cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease(s), sleep apnea, arthritis, dementia, etc., etc., etc.  At age 69 I don't need a doctor to tell me that I'm borderline on all counts.

So two years ago I was eating 1/2 gal. ice cream, a couple large pizzas, bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc. every week!  Now I have tapered off to a slip or two every couple of weeks.  At present I have 10 days as a 100% LFRV.  So I've cut down, but I haven't detoxified.  And that's what makes me skeptical about any doctor telling me that I have reversed cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.

One thing I hope to do is to make a complete and permanent lifestyle change.  Another thing I'm thinking is about beginning a water fast to detoxify.

What do you think?

Lee, one other quick comment.  If you should decide to go the route of fasting please make sure it is under the guidance of a qualified health professional.  My friend did his fast while under the supervision of a health professional.  During a prolonged fast one must be aware that there body chemistry does not get out of balance.

Hello Lee.  Good to hear from you again, although you seem to be going through some challenges. This is a quick response to your most recent posting.

The man you speak about who fasted for 90 days, I personally know him, a friend of mine.  He is a man of high integrity. I am not sure of the whole situation, however he did fast from all solid food for ninety days.  During those 90 days he drank water and had a lot of wheat grass juice. (Wheat grass juice is great for alkalizing the body, which in turn reverses disease and maintains health.) He may have had some other fresh juices, but on that I am not sure.  I do know that there is research out there that supports fasting as a way of reversing disease, but in this moment cannot give you a specific place to go.  To do a 90 fast as he mentioned takes a lot of discipline and will power.  For the moment I would like to recommend for you to research the Gerson Institute.  They are 100% natural and have a very good track record.  You can find them on line at, www.Gerson.org  I encourage you to go through the many layers of there web page. A lot of good info. I know of several people who have went to the Gerson Institute and have reversed there cancer, and all with no chemo, drugs, etc.  All based on a vegan diet.  My own personal research had me look into the Gerson Institute and I applied some of there approaches for my personal healing.

I hope this is of some help.  Let us know how you make out.

Is there any support for fasting as a way to cure cancer?  I just read a personal account in the Raw Health Forum by a man who says his doctor sent him home to die, after telling him that he had Stage IV cancer.  He fasted 90 days and walked away cured!

I don't know whether to believe that or not either!  There's no credibility check on the internet!

I have trouble trusting my doctor.  On April 2010 she told me that I had a cyst on the head of my right humerus that was possibly cancerous.  She also said I had a 5mm nodule in the lower lobe of my right lung that was possibly cancerous.  Then she said that I had paraprotienemias that indicated I had blood cancer.  I also complained about osteoarthritis and she started setting me up for all kinds of X-rays and CAT scans, etc.

I declined some of the Xrays and one of the CAT scans and said there was no need taking a fasting blood sample on the day she requested it because I had been binging on ice cream and pizza the week before.

So the next time I had an appointment with this doctor she said there was no sign of any cancer in my body!

And, you know what?  I don't believe her!  I believe that she is one of those "my way or the highway doctors," who does not want to work with someone who does not worship doctors; someone who prefers to take responsibiltiy for his own recovery.  We were having regular meetings every 6 months and it is now approaching a year since I have seen her.

This is a V. A. doctor, so I can request a meeting, but I'm getting the distinct feeling that I cannot trust this doctor.  I think she may have tried to scare me.  I think that she has the idea that what she says is "my way or the highway."  I just don't trust doctors.

So now I'm on Day 6 of my latest attempt at detox, weight-loss, and arresting obesity-related, chronic, degenerative diseases with a 100% LFRV diet, exercise and sleep program.  If, and when, I can make it to 2 months of 100% as a LFRV I plan to go in for a blood test.  In April, I plan to request a CAT scan.  And that's my new treatment for cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

Am I making a mistake in this approach?  Should I be getting all kinds of Xrays, CAT scans and medications?  Should I be taking radiation and chemo therapy?  Should I check into a nursing home?

Frankly, I think I would prefer to put a plastic bag over my head before I do any of those things.  At least, that's the way I feel about it now.  Actually, on Day 6 of my program I'm beginning to feel better (no sugar, salt, gluten, animal products, dairy, chemicals, preservatives, etc).  I really can't say how I would feel when it's time to put a plastic bag over my head!

Tenanda, This looks like a really good evening of expanding into natural ways of reversing cancer.  Thanks for this info.
