Let us thrive!

This group is for anyone who likes the idea of coming together and concentrating our knowledge and resources to buy land to create an ecological community somewhere in the tropics. Think, "fruit forests, beautiful thoughtful gardens, earth homes, tree houses."

THINK, UTOPIA!"

Think, "oh my goodness this sounds like a rad idea, lets do it!" Bring your open mind to the group and lets co-create something amazing.

The details are currently undecided so we need your input! We'll be talking about things like, inter-community politics and dynamics, deciding locations, citizenship and visas, and troubleshooting in general.
Every moment that we're not working towards the best future ever, is a moment wasted.
Let's see just how awesome this life can get.
Let's create a Woodstock fruit festival that lasts forever, with fresh picked fruit!
Let's finally assume full personal responsibility and become empowered to become completely self sustainable!
Let's get along!
Let's blow the status quo out of the water!
Lets return to nature, and get off the grid so we don't get crushed by the current failing system!

There is incredible potential in this amazing resource that Free and DR have created for us!
We're all here, through our journey down the rabbit hole, we all wants the same things, and the rabbit hole leads to the garden!
Cause there ain't no logic like the biologic, there aint no culture like the permaculture, and there aint no village like a HCRVillage!
It's gonna be so magical, you don't even know.

Hey everyone. There hasn't been much activity here in this group recently, I apologize, I have been very busy working on a video that has finally been uploaded. Anyways. I would love to continue this endeavor if you would. After all, the revolution is in the eco-village, right? :) So, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Thailand, Bali? What do you think. What resonates with you?

Raini / All, I have a large network in Ecuador (Ec) & some other parts of South America that can help us get this going quickly.  I speak with friends there several times a week.  Also, there are lots of plans / templates available for us to get this project going pretty quickly which I have access to.  We should probably start communicating via skype or via some kind of a conference system in addition to here. Namaste, Mark

I thought I would re-post my thoughts on locations here for the convenience of others.

Of those choices, my preferences from most to least preferred are:

1)  Ecuador (Ec) - I have lived there for 3 months, and LOVED it.  Great weather 50-80F year round, very fertile land with year round growing season, great fruit everywhere, many locals doing their own growing, low cost, progressive government / leadership, many like minds there or considering going there.  Large ex-pat community and many English speakers already there.  Good and improving infrastructure.  Economy doing quite well now during the ongoing global recession / depression.  Lots of new projects & foreign investment.
2)  Colombia (Co) - More potential security issues here than Ec.  But everything else similar.  Costs maybe slightly higher.
3)  Bolivia - More potential security issues here than Ec.  But everything else similar.  Costs maybe about same as Ec or slightly lower.  Small or no ex-pat community of English speakers there.  Growing season shorter than Ec, and country poorer so less infrastructure.  No access to coast for shipping, travel.
4)  Brazil (Br) - High ground will have to be found here.  Costs also higher than Co & Ec.
5)  Argentina (Ar) - Abundant high ground here.  However, more expensive than 4 above, and there is a winter in Argentina, therefore not as long a growing season.
6)  South Africa (Sa) - Great weather and year round growing season.  More potential security issues here than all 5 above due to decades of tribal conflicts and very aggressive behavior;  rapes a problem here.  Costs similar to Ar.  Well developed infrastructure.  English is one of primary languages here.
7)  Australia (Au) / New Zealand (Nz) - Focus on high ground here, as flooding will be a major issue on coasts & in low ground.  Good weather.  Costs higher than 6 above.  Well developed infrastructure.  English is primary language.

Yeah I've been really honing in on Ecuador as well.

I would be all into ecuador...I've been considering that country for quite a few years now and have found a lot of evidence to put at/around the top of my list.

I'm liking that. Yeah I think Ecuador is pretty key as far as land prices go. Who would consider living in Ecuador?

Perhaps the first thing is to outline the process. What is the first step? What's the second? Third? Fourth?

Just like planning a trip, we'll need to map things out.
