Comment by Grayson on January 13, 2013 at 12:43pm I just got here in Maui, only been here for a few days. It is so beautiful here, and lots of great fruits :). I am looking a good farm to stay at. Maybe Coconut Chris on Big Island?

Comment by Barb Cuttance on December 11, 2012 at 11:57am The woman I buy non GMO papayas from at the Hilo market is Pam. She usually is the large stand across the end of the market nearest to the sea. Quite a lot of her produce is organic but not all. Some is spray free. Ask her and she will tell you what is what. I also sometimes phone her and place an order which I pick up either from her in Hilo at the market or Pahoa or sometimes from her home in HPP. Let me know if you'd like her phone number by dropping me an email to barbc@ihug.co.nz. I don't want to put it here but would be happy to email it to you after I call her to see if she's cool with that. B <3
Comment by Rachael Renee Gerkensmeyer on December 11, 2012 at 11:53am It's just occured to me that a few of us live on this side of the island... we should have a potluck sometime!
Comment by Rachael Renee Gerkensmeyer on December 11, 2012 at 11:51am Aloha! Where abouts at the Hilo farmer's market can I find Jan? I would love to hook up with non-gmo papaya. Mahalo in advance for your kokua. <3
Comment by Barb Cuttance on December 10, 2012 at 3:04pm I buy them from Pam when we need to purchase also. She's at the Pahoa and Hilo markets. We also grow most of what we need. Even growing our own does not guarantee non GMO :-(
Comment by Rachelle Abel on December 10, 2012 at 2:47pm Pam at the Hilo market has non GMO. I just grow my own now. Even then one can not be totally sure that they are not GMO. bugs carry the pollen around.
