That's nice to join you all! I stopped make-up more than a year ago and it actually was a bit challenging. I mean, my diet wasn't totally clean - I still used salt, spices, cooked foods and there was a period when I ate almost anything vegan - oil, soy products and so on. And my acne haven't cleared yet. I still get break-outs but I'm making my peace with that - just doing the best I can and waiting. But ditching make-up actually is nice :) I still keep some of the mineral powder and eyeshadows in case of some special occasion, but I used it only few times in this year :) What I find the best is that I can touch my face and especially eyes without a fear of smudging mascara all over :D I was a huge make-up user for almost 10years, so it feels much better to free myself from that mental disorder - that I can't leave my house without at least 3 products on my face... Now I use mostly water, toothbrush and a sponge :) I have eco-organic shampoo, toothpaste and a deo-stone (although I'm not sure it's very healthy), but I use it very rarely. I still use depillator some times, but only then it starts bothering me. I'm really glad that my hubby seems not even noticing my hairyness :D And since goin vegan I started using soap nuts for laundry which is kinda cool :)

I am so happy to find this group. I stopped shaving my underarms and legs over a year ago and never turning back! I don't wear make-up with the exception of mascara sometimes. I don't even buy shampoo, conditioner, lotions, face wash, moisturizer, deodorant, etc...I haven't washed my hair or face with anything but water in over a year. I use baking soda on my hair every 7-10 days. Oh the joys of fruit! And everyone says it's expensive...I have saved a fortune from not buys razors and beauty products!

I am moving towards makeup freedom but haven't washed my hair since last August ( was using baking soda but stopped a month or two ago and haven't noticed much difference). It's been a year since I shaved and am diggin that. Here lately, when i look at makeup or ads or a Kardashian :) I keep thinking, all you see is the makeup. I'm not saying i don't think makeup is pretty but not on someone's face!! Colors are pretty but I'd rather see them on a flower or in a tree- to say a woman isn't 'pretty' unless she covers herself up, that sounds a little burka-like, doesn't it. I did quit wearing mascara because I have blond eyelashes and finally decided to embrace them not deny their existence. I swear i get a more positive reaction from the average person when i am makeup free than when i succumb and conform and wear it!

I went like a year without out shaving, and i was so proud! but then i started working, (i'm a waitress) and unfortunately i had to wash my hair and shave those other hairs lol! And my boyfriend didn't like my hairy legs, which really bothered me but oh well! And I haven't worn makeup since i was 16. I was having, lets say, a very introspective moment and looked in the mirror and was like oh my goodness i can't even see myself under all this caky paint! Next day I gave away alllll my makeup and haven't touched it since. I exfoliate with sugar or a washcloth usually and moisturize with coconut or almond oil.

hi Laura!

I use organic virgin coconut oil and it works really well on my skin and scalp. Its the only product I use on my skin and hair and it does wonders with the dryness of winter and with skinproblems. You should really try it, just be sure you buy the virgin one.

Hi Ladies!
Personally I only use mascara, and I use olive oil to remove it at the end of the day. I also use olive oil to moisture my skin in winter and it does a great job on me. Never clogged my pores as some people told me...
Wanna try coconut oil because I really like the smell! Have anyone ever tried it?

I'm in major purging mode! I'm throwing out all my chemical filled make-up, hair products, body washes, and the like. I honestly never thought this would happen, but I think I'm ready to part with them!
