Hi Chantale

Maybe you should start a discussion about the pot luck. Call it something like "are first pot luck"

and put the details in there, like where when who's coming so far and who is bringing what (otherwise we might wind up with a thousand bananas :)). It will be much easier to track and we can update the thread after the pot luck.

I'm sorry, I thought I was going to be able to make it, and I hadn't seen my work schedule yet but I actually have work then.   Depending on how long it lasts, I could come after?  :(  darn I was really looking forward to it.

Hey summer for sure ottawa people are welcome. The more we are the greater!

For my vitamin D i never tested myself. I read somewhere that as long as we have a "color" from sun exposure you can be vitamin D sufficient for some time... I'll read the info on your website Melanie, thanks!

I'm planning to go to at crudescence pot-luck tomorrow, who's going? How do we meet?

It is nice that you can do it at your place Chantale. I wish to come!

Tanning beds may be more concentrated than the sun, but you don't expose as long. Each beds have specific % of uvb and uva, and the sun at noon is supposed to have 5% UVB. The only advice is never burn! I think tanning beds are safe, but you have to read about it and choose a good place...

François, do you find that 5 min a week is enough? have you ever tested your vit d? I've read we should go I least 18 to 20 min a week for enough vit d , but you have to go 3 times a week in the begining to be able to build a base tan and than add more minutes. I don't feel like going so often and for so long anyways, maybe 5 minutes is better than not to go.

I'm up for a pot luck too. Thanks Chantale for offering to host it, you can count on me for preparing it if needed! For the vitamin D concern I go to tanning bed and it makes me feel great! Tan bedding are not the problem, overusage of them are! Vitamin D supplements are not as well absorbed as coming from the UV... I go 5 minutes at a time once a week in winter.
