30 Bananas a Day!

Hello everyone,

I'd like to help set up a set of FAQs for this group.

It would a great reference page for us all.

But I need your help! I don't know what kind of Qs would be useful.

Or whether or not we would be utilising these Qs for 'The China Study (Book)' in general [as in, in defence of a whole food plant based diet being the optimal diet] or the attempted debunking of 'The China Study' and/or 'The China Project'.

Once we all decide which of the above the Qs should be focused on, we can start asking some Qs!

In the meantime, if you have ANY questions that you think would be relevant please post them here.

Thanks in advance.

What is the difference between "The China Study" and "The China Project"?

"The China Study" is a book that was published in 2006 by T. Colin Campbell and Thomas M. Campbell which details the journey of scientific discoveries and research into diet and disease over the past few decades. It comes referenced with hundreds of peer reviewed studies detailing why a plant based diet is recommended for optimal health.

"The China Project" is an epidemiological study undertaken in the 70s and 80s in China that ranged across 65 counties in an effort to understand diet and disease correlation. This study takes up only 1 of 18 chapters within "The China Study" book.

They should not be confused with one another.

(Sorry, I just feel that so many do not understand the difference between the two and this kind of misinformation only serves to confuse and hamper knowledge).
great one ZangFuFighter, important point to make.

Great thread Mandarin peel! I'm got my thinking cap on!
mp,

here are some candidates for the faq (questions only):

who were involved in the creation of the china study and what are their qualifications and areas of expertise?

what are the key messages the china study conveys?

who are some of the people that endorse the china study?

is the china study considered to be good science?

what arguments are there disputing the findings of the china study?

possibly, people who have knowledge in these areas can try providing answers as we build up the faq.

in friendship,
prad
