wow...i am on what is sure to be my first of many readings of this amazing account. It reads like a 'This is your life...". Explains so many things and also reinforces where I am and strengthens my resolve as to where I am heading. I am only up to pg 83 but am curious as to whether he explains why they did not uses meat protein as opposed to milk protein/casein in any of their initial rat experiments? I know they explored veg protein, fats etc but I am left with this question!

Hey Prad

Well any promotion is good promotion I guess.

Yes PK. It is good to get challenged and be armed with knowledge. :)

hi liam!

i don't see a trap here. people like denise have been opposing plant-based diets for a couple of decades and we have always responded. she just provided us with an opportunity to highlight the info that is out there in support of the china study ... and we'll keep doing that.

in friendship,

prad

@Liam I totally agree with you that I base my vegan beliefs on far more than this book.

However, people like Denise can bring up thought provoking challenges that can keep us on our toes and bend our minds.  We may never be able to convince Denise herself, but some of the questions she asks, other people will and have asked too.  The more knowledge in my mental arsenal, the better.

I would like to say great work to all the people in this group and their thought provoking contributions.

Peace, PK

It feels like you walked into an unintentional trap creating this group. By doing so you have implied a)that the china study is some kind of foundation to vegan beleifs and b)that you're taking silly uneducated people like Denise seriously. Let her "debunk" the book. If people want to have warped views on nutrition and ignore data supporting veganism then that's their choice. Myself I base my vegan beleifs on far more than this book.

mark, i suggest you contact one of the admin directly regarding sending out the "ignore" email. it's likely a good idea. some of the pks may have broadcasting powers too so you can give them a try as well. they may not see your comments here.

oops looks like they are already on it - just got a broadcast from ednshell.

prad

Steph, I think one of the admins must have blocked her. Thank you to all of the admins for looking out for us. Now, if one of the admins could send out an email to everyone asking them to "ignore" any messages offering a walmart card that would be great. I know must of us will ignore those messages but it's very easy for someone new to this site or new to receiving those kinds of emails may be duped. I'd hate for that to happen to anyone.

yes, I got that email via 5 different groups.. I thought it's just some spambot who signed on to send all those messages. but probably the registration procedure should have filtered them out?
