My favorite dates are sukkari and wannanah! So good!!! Medjool and deglet are pretty delicious too, and deglet is easiest to get round here so my staple date :)

Permalink Reply by Athena on July 2, 2012 at 1:47 I like Medjools too, Wendy. :) Though the last time I had them was 6 years ago when I was in Wales. Still I remember their mouthwatering taste! :p
But since I've met Mozafati dates, that's been my "ecstacy" ever since. ;)
Permalink Reply by Athena on July 2, 2012 at 1:44 I'm glad you like it Esperanza! :)
Wow, I've never had your favourite kinds of dates, or even heard of them for that matter. *blush* Do you order them?
Hihihihi, bon appetit! ;)
Permalink Reply by Esperanza Vite - The Raw Monkey on July 2, 2012 at 2:01 I used to order them online, but haven't had any in a while since they were quite expensive! Missing them! :( Deglet are good too though :) I love the way with dates there are so many varities too try - each one is like a whole new fruit with its own flavor, texture and sweetness...oh dear! i really am in love with dates!!! :D xxx
Permalink Reply by Athena on July 2, 2012 at 2:06 Yes, often as long as we don't live in the native countries where they are grown/sold they can be expensive, which is too bad. :(
Nevertheless I'm glad to hear you're satisified with the ones that you can afford.
Yes, I'm in love with dates too! :D xxx
Permalink Reply by Athena on July 2, 2012 at 1:57 +1 Yes, they are Mozafati dates. It's nice to know there's another Mozafati-Fan here. :)
Permalink Reply by Athena on July 3, 2012 at 3:02 When I first read that, I had to laugh, as I was imagining your mother's reaction. Ah, not everyone understands what joys and miracles dates can bring, especially Mozafati dates. ;)
Permalink Reply by MrDate on July 3, 2012 at 2:43 mozafati AND medjoul. it's like swimming vs running. no competition. both awesome for different reasons. while i prefer mozafati in my drinks, medjoul are my favourite mono snack ever. i prefer them during sport also.
Permalink Reply by Luciano Armani on July 27, 2012 at 12:01 oh id wish i could get my hands on many varieties to try em all. Lately i bought a box of deglets and are my current favorite. Not too sweet, and the caramel undertones are just heaven.
hey, im thinking: why dont we make a list with the overall qualities of each kind of date? say, a 1 to 10 on a sweet scale, flavor undertones (coffee, caramel, etc)?
it would be pretty useful to me!
(ps: if anyone knows of a place that sells good quality dates and ships internationally please let me know)
Permalink Reply by Apple Blossom on August 6, 2012 at 14:40 I just love medjool dates more than any other kind, but they're so expensive! Impossible for me to have on a daily basis.. Of course, when I do get my hands on a box, It never lasts more than a couple days:)
