For folks in & around the Chicago area or just the Midwest in general. Maybe we can set up some occasional regional gatherings. Or for those of us who travel within the area - a chance to meet others when we're on the road.

Comment by Raw Jenni on April 7, 2013 at 2:49am Hi Bar B Sunshine!
I'm in Chicagoland... I just made it through this last winter high raw/vegan. I lived on bananas, dates, oranges, and frozen fruits. Persimmons were around at times, and papayas. Whole Foods and Trader Joes have plenty of these fruits. Lack of warmth and sunshine can be a bummer, but I would just stand in my doorway and soak up some sun, even if it was cold. Thankfully Chicago isn't the coldest place in America, and at least the bugs go away for a few months :)
I'm also not too far from Orland. I shop there sometimes, and go to a church near there.
Comment by Bar B Sunshine on April 6, 2013 at 11:58pm Hey guys!!! I live in Florida, but it seems like we will be moving back to Chicago suburbs by June, I'm sooooo afraid of the weather and giving up on raw foods! I can picture myself wrapped around in blankets sipping smoothies and jumping on a stationary bike to stay warm...!! However, my concern is the fact that fruit is not as available like here in Florida, or levels of vitamin D going down... I also how a toddler and a baby. tough tough tough...! How do you guys do it! Tips tips please.
ps..I will be volunteering at a raw cafe in Lockport, so I'm hoping I get to meet lots of raw fooders! Anyway form south suburbs here? Tinley/Orland?
Anyone from Wisconsin? I am a newbie looking to connect with others from the midwest.
Comment by HealthySkinnyBeautiful-TashaLee on December 27, 2012 at 5:47am Hey not for Chicagoans but for the midwesterners in this group, a friend just told me about this. She gets organic produce delivered to her in Ohio. They deliver to a couple other midwestern states as well, and do a fruit bin. Thought this might be something to look into........
