30 Bananas a Day!

Hi everyone!

so lately to start off eating raw vegan Ive been just eating banana mono meals, but I decided i want a little more variety in my diet. my problem is trying to find  farmers markets that are currently open. Right now I live in the Merrimack Valley region (lawrence/methuen) and the farmers markets dont open for atleast another two weeks, I can keep buying at this wholesaler but I really would like to eat more locally grown food.

So I'm just wondering for those of you from this general area where do you normally go to for food year round? I'm willing to drive into boston if needed as well

What do you have set as a staple food item, and where would be the best place to go?

HMart in Burlington has fruits in bulk year round.

Thank you

Hey I live in the Merrimack valley region too! Farmers markets are the best, but yea they don;t start for a bit. Im involved in a veggie CSA ( some fruit too I think) thats in West Newbury ( a bit of a drive) that should be starting this month. Also my local Whole Foods has just started carrying local herbs which got me excited. It all depends on if you a set on staying organic. There is a farm Wilson Farm thats in Lexington that starts selling at then end of this week I think. I have only been here once because I stay all organic. Year round I shop at my local Whole Foods (Andover). I buy dates in bulk from eaither 7hotdates.com or medjooldates.com both organic and great quality! During the summer I shop different farmers markets around merrimack valley and boston/cambridge. If you want me to list specific markets let me know. My staple foods right now are bananas dates and greens, I also eat a good amount of zucchini pasta. What wholesaler do you buy from? Id love to chat more, Its hard to find like minded people in this area

thanks so much for that info! i ended up finding some in haverhill and a few in lawrence! im excited, earlier this year when i searched i couldnt find any, im guessing they just didnt update their sites yet. theres a small produce market here in lawrence that sells wholesale fruit, I just have to ask an employee to grab me a case. it's called "la fruteria" and is off of the main street/broadway/rt 28 road

you should add me on facebook! (http://www.facebook.com/kenia.rivera) i get so happy when i meet people who are vegan in my area :) haha it's probably because i get so much negative feedback when my friends find out what i eat normally

Green Meadow Farms (my fav, & totally organic...), Appleton Farms & Moraine Farm are mostly organic.

Canaan Farm( not the best -  the people who run it. The woman who used to is now at Vidalias and Utopia..love her,  but not organic)

Tendercrop Farm in Newbury

There is a farm in Salem, but I am not familiar with it.
