Great video by Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram with 10 all-important tips for beginners in an HCRV lifestyle!

30BaD note: juicing (without the pulp) is not ideal for most people, it's far better to eat the whole fruit. why?

In my opinion, its better to eat cooked, organic wholefood carbs(grains, buckwheat, quinoa, potatoes, sweet potato, parsnip, taro, yams, pumpkin, squash, etc),than crap fruit that is grown in lifeless, herbicide sprayed soil, fertilized with NPK,,sprayed with deadly poisons and hormones, then picked underipe, treated with postharvest chemicals(fungicides, petroleum based oils and waxes to increase shelf life as well as heat or steam treatment, then artificially gassed to colour and make it appear ripe to consumers.

You can still be 811 HCV by eating some cooked foods if good fruit is not available, you just wont be 100% raw.Its impossible to be successful 100% raw without access to decent fruit year round.

As far as dates are concerned,if possible buy the fresh organic ones from california which are readily available online if not locally at a reasonable cost.

What approach would be best when trying to add some cooked food to my diet. Honestly,I would like to avoid that but fruit the last weeks has tasted awful,it has no taste at .Exepting the fact that it is quite hard to find fresh fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth, I have to eat enough to have strenght and energy to finish my aerobics class. I've managed somehow to add dates ( soaked 4-6h in water because i can nly find them dried), but they make me feel sleepy after I eat them, they take longer to digest and cause discomfort, and my sweat started to smell again. I've been a HCRV for 3 months now, since march 13th. Do you have any advice I could follow? I would really apreciate it. (I convinced my mother to keep up with me for 1 week on HCRV and she was very content with the way she felt, but I eventually agreed to her that we can not eat this way both because it is very expensive, and she is a vegan for now, mostly 811 :) .)

Thanks for the input with regards to greens.  I did some searching online and as far as I can tell you cannot get too much of the fat soluble vitamins (ADEK) from food sources.  The only thing I wonder is if they are referring to what a person on a standard diet would consume.  I typically eat 2lbs of greens per day, which I know is way more than the average person.  Any ideas?

Okay, clarifying my earlier statement, excess vitamins and minerals will be excreted, either through peeing or pooing lol

I have been hcrv for a month now, and I used to eat sunflower seeds like crazy, what would be a good substitute for the seeds, something to snack on during the day, at work, would raisins be ok? Any ideas would be helpful, i am an ex-smoker and have cravings sometimes, the snacks help.

Anyone converted the 80/10/10 to aussie measurements! cups and tbsp rather than oz and lb.'s...

I google the conversions and they are often different depending on the food that they are... a little confused.

Hello everybody:-) I am also new on the 80-10-10(0n my 7th day) and i come from a Raw high fat vegan diet. So what i have experienced is when starting this diet is, fatigue even though i try to get almost 3 liters of water in, and an almost total of 2500-3000 cal in from fruit and veggies. And to be quite sincere i have been struggling with stomache aches The Melon belly and i have a hard time getting out on my runs due to tiredness and a belly full of fruit:-) and a weight gain. My questions are did i go to fast into the diet? It was from one day to the other-because it feels right for me, the animals and mother nature. The week prior my diet i had penicillin because i got sick, so that was the last straw for me just jumping into it, to never look back at diseases, bad health yo-yo weight and so on...Thanks everybody:-)

Like any other vitamin or mineral that you might ingest more than your body needs, you will just pee it out :)

Just wondering . . . . assuming that you are getting enough calories from fruit, is it possible to eat too many greens?  Can we get too much vitamin K from the greens?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Jimmy- seems to be getting better actually. There rest of my body has aclamated very well so i'm confident my mouth will fall in line.

ANNA- the only negative experience I have had (5 weeks in) is eating too much too fast and getting what I learned is called "melon belly". This was a pain in the stomach that at 1 time was so bad I literally had to lay down (which didn't help). Since I drinking my large banana smoothies slower I have had no issues. From what I know 1 week isn't that long to rule out detox symptoms although I don't think detox symptoms would occur immediately after you eat. This isn't very helpful I realize, but I wanted to comment on it anyway :)
