30 Bananas a Day!

Hello everyone, i have recently embraced the raw food life style and i loooove it! I just need some guidence on what i put in my small fride and what can i leave out.. Im mostly curious about greens like kale, spinach and beets. My fridge is overflowing and i need to know what i can leave on the counter without it spoiling. Any lists or fruits and veggies storing needs who be soooo helpful!

This is a good question because I don't have a proper system and I've never done research - I just play it by instinct.  I tend to wrap lettuce and spinach in some paper towel and then into one of those "green" storage bags - the Debbie Meyers brand  - and place in the bottom of the fridge.  They do well this way.  I put parsley and cilantro in water (like flowers) and cover them with a produce bag on top to prevent fridge burn.  I should try leaving them out of the fridge without the cover to test how well they keep because they certainly take up a lot of room in there.  You could also try storing celery in a container in water on the counter to keep it crispy.  I stopped doing this because I now use celery for juicing and so it gets used up fairly quickly.

I definitely think I need to keep beets in the fridge from now on - the ones I left on the counter became soft pretty much in a day.  I also find that peaches and necterines can turn moldy pretty quick without refridgeration in the summer.

Hi, From what I've heard and read, it's ideal to keep fruit and veges "alive", which means to keep their life vibrations and seed viability going. It's more healthy to ingest those vibrations. Not refrigerating will help here, but if the fruit or veges have already been "killed" by a fridge in the shop/warehouse, then there's nothing to do. If the season's not too hot, I like to put fruits plus some veges (roots in water) on the counter. Cheers.
