30 Bananas a Day!

i bought a crate of bananas earlier this week but they only had super ripe ones, the first day they were perfect to eat but im afraid the rest of them will go bad. so i thought to freeze most of them and make banana 'icecream' with them as well as buy another case so ill alternate between fresh and frozen.

so im wondering if freezing bananas will have negative effects or be counterproductive in some way?

I have been freezing banans for years and use them in my smoothies. No negative effects at all for me. I also buy a case a week so that I always have ripe ones on hand but I always end up having to freeze some.

okay thanks for this! yea ive have to freeze well over 3/4 of this case. i think ive only had 20/100 of these bananas fresh and i see myself having to eat banana ice cream for the rest of the week haha. im one day 1 of my 30 day banana island and i didnt know if this would have an effect but thanks so much!

definitely made me feel better haha

I read somewhere that freezing your food is just as bad as cooking them.  But i see a lot of raw vegans freezing their fruit so now I wonder if that's true or not.

that's what i've been wondering too, but i haven't found any info telling me this for sure. and for now i see it as it's either freezing them or throwing them all away which i would hate to do.

where did you read this info on freezing food?

I honestly dont remember I've read so much stuff in the past year haha but I'm gonna keep looking and if I come across it again I'll let ya know and post it on here.

I freeze bananas without any problems whatsoever.  I simply use them in smoothies.  YUMMM  Yes, it is best to eat fresh fruit picked right from the tree/off the vine, etc.  Let's be practical though.

I am anal about a lot of things - eating only organic is one - but we need to live our lives the best we can. At least you are eating fruit!  LOL

I say freeze tjem.  I would say that it does lessen the nutritional value some, but not so much that you should really worry about it.

Go to banana island! And yes, you can freeze them. It's better than to let them to get overripe.
