The person who turned me onto 811 said not to eat vegetables grown beneath the soil. But I am seeing them in recipes all the time. Am I avoiding these for any reason? Or did I get misinformation?

Root vegetables have different qualities and nutrients compared to fruits and green leaves.,however, they may be more difficult to digest than fruit and greens, carrots and beetroot are prob best in this respect and more often eaten raw than other root vegetables.
Roots of plants have a correspondence to the head in humans, and are said to benefit the nerve/sense organism.
Permalink Reply by HandymanBananas on July 28, 2012 at 12:05pm Yes I asked and he said they are "harder to digest" but like I said, I have seen a lot of root vegetables used in LFRV recipes and haven't seen anything discussing avoidance of root vegetables. Hmm. So carrot and beetroot are ok? Interesting note about the correspondence of root vegetables and the head. Thanks for your response!
Permalink Reply by jimmy on July 28, 2012 at 5:07pm Carrots and beetroot are more likely to be used raw in salads rather than roots like parsnip or swedes. Also due to their bright colour they carry the flower element into the root, making them easier to digest raw than the above mentioned. You can also add them to smoothie mixes maybe.
Onions are used in small quantities by some LFRV folk as well in salads, would'nt add them to smoothies though.Potatoes are actually a stem vegetable, not a true root veg,and are unlikely to be eaten raw.
