Actually,I've read it before.Concerning environment damage,do you have any idea of the devastation & displacement of native people caused by  commercial non organic monoculture banana plantations in central america and elsewhere over the past 50 years?.Only recently has there been a move toward organic plantations but they amount to less than 1% of world production.

In India and other countries grains and mixed crops including fruits were grown organically & sustainably for millenia with no decline of soil fertility. After world war II the military/industrial complex needed a market for their chemicals so industrial/chemical/factory farming was born.In the mid 60's the so called 'Green Revolution' was born,as a so called solution to alleviate world hunger. The misguided idea was if you fed the soil chemical mineral fertilizers,input/output,the more put in the more you get out but in the process the once naturally alive fertile soil was burnt out of organic matter and humus. This has been going on unabated ever since and has recently reached another level of destruction with the introduction of GMO crops.

Grain crops are not the ;problem, its how any crop is grown and how we manage or mismanage the land.
