30 Bananas a Day!

so ive been looking to see if there re any co-op farms near where i live and there are, problem is, it's not opening for the season for another week; but i was just wondering how much have you all been spending when i comes to buying mass quantities of fruit?

i'm assuming co-ops would be the best option, but are there any other places i should look into for more affordable options? i just want to know so i can better prepare myself financially.

depends on where you live and what you want to eat. if i wanted to live on bananas and celery, i could do it for 70 dollars if i was buying organic, and even less than that if i was buying conventional (which i don't recommend, but if organic isn't an option then it's fine). if i wanted to eat strawberries and dates and melons and have nice tomato rich salads, then i'd spend probably around 150 to 200. not a lot is available wholesale to me, so i end up buying most of my fruit at the grocery store where i work. wholesale is usually like, half the price per pound or less.

thanks! I'm not too sure if organic is available where I live, currently I'm at school and the fruits I get from my dinning halls are definitely not organic. I go home next week/will be on the hunt for fruits then so I'll make sure to ask around. but thanks so much for letting me know :D

I spent $20-$55/day. I could reduce that to $18 day if I go conventional and spend more time caring for my fruit trees.

Don't forget to contrast the costs of chemotherapy, statin drugs and missed time from work on a conventional diet that includes refined grains, meat and dairy.

sorry for the late reply! but this is so true! haha i constantly see my brother getting sick and gaining weight while he works out constantly and i see him getting upset. meanwhile he talks about how his body 'demands' steak and eggs. i just think to myself... he would benefit so much from 811. but hes too stubborn.

ive found a fruit wholesaler in my town lucky enough! i plan on getting my staple, bananas as well as other varieties at local farmers markets ive found!

thanks for the insight Chris!!

I agree with Stephanie McClennon , I believe you can arrange how much you can spend depending the diet you follow! :) I m sure that you can arrange a square deal with the co-ops farms just be patient :)
