Hello,
I don't know if this is the right place for this but.. I wanted to know if there was an explanation to my feeling in such a good mood after eating a fruit meal? I'm pretty new to all this, and I can't afford to eat fruit meals all the time just yet, but when I do it feels great.
I am currently trying to rid my diet of overt fats, as they really do ruin the great vegan vibe.. but fruit is just an entirely different ball game ;)

I've struggled with the cost as well at times. I find a meal of pasta once in awhile when money is tight with a good organic sauce (which won't have processed sugars like the others have) is a good filler. Watermelons are pretty cheap now, especially at farmer's markets. They fill me up pretty good.

herbs and spices will help you add flavour to your cooked meals without adding fat. when eating cooked i will very often add broccoli, due to it being sweet when lightly steamed. my advise on that frount would be to get one of the mcdougall/forks over knives cook books....although this is not as easy/tasty/clean as eating raw, they will stand you in very good stead..and have a HCV diet, raw or not is the way to go
good luck..and enjoy the energy your food gives you! it will help you get your diet better and better as you relate your food choices more and more to both your energy levels and even more so, to your love for life!
regards, james :)
Permalink Reply by Apple Blossom on August 10, 2012 at 6:48am Thanks, I will be getting that book, as well as the 80/10/10. There is no doubt in my mind that HCV is the way to go, it's just a mall challenge due to the fact that society brought us up to eat almost the opposite:) Now, if only I could find some cheap dates in my area I would be in heaven...
Permalink Reply by James bananaman Bailey on August 10, 2012 at 11:25am i love dates! dates, bananas and melons/pineapple are my staples. without nanas and dates i would not be able to do this...this far north.
Permalink Reply by Dovima on August 11, 2012 at 10:31am I am by far my happiest eating an all raw, 811 diet. I have vacillated back and forth between cooked food and raw, and always need to ask myself, "Do I want to eat this.....or be happy?"
I can't believe how much I suffered mentally/emotionally with gluten, sugar, caffeine, dairy, etc. Also, I think I took on a lot of horrific energy from eating meat. But that's in my past now! I finally, at the age of 40, get to experience some joy.
Permalink Reply by Apple Blossom on August 15, 2012 at 11:12pm wow, that's really inspiring. I'm currently still eating cooked (vegan!), but I try to add in as many fruit meals as possible:)
Permalink Reply by Tony on August 14, 2012 at 7:55am The more raw living foods you eat the more alive you will feel cause you are what you eat :D I feel the same way, fruit makes me super happy and energetic.
When money is tight, dates purchased in bulk online help me out. I also buy bananas from Walmart- I know non-organic and supporting the big corp- but it's the cheapest for me and I figure more fruit into my body will always be better than not having fruit on hand and eating something that makes me feel like... yea. Also, the other cooked thing that could be okay for me is plain rice, no oil, salt, etc. organic tomato paste is a concentrated flavor/taste.
Also, good for you to hit the 'no overts' thing early on. Extra fat is extra fat and speaking from personal experience, it does not feel good coming in or staying on! No need for it :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_o4YBQPKtQ
