Are you using any salad ingredients in particular that make you need a dressing - that is, things you don't really like? May be just cut them out.
For me, when I first went low fat (the beginning of last week), I used just lemon juice as a dressing, although I only did that while I used up the veggies in the fridge. Since then it's been just fruit and lettuce (some spinach too, but I don't like the taste so I stopped that). I wasn't a big fan of lettuce, but it tastes really good to me now I'm just eating fruit the rest of the time.
I'm at the beginning of this, but then so are you, so here's what I'm eating and it's doing me fine so far.
2 meals of around 1.2kg bananas blended with a bit of water and maybe eat some more bananas if I feel like some more. (unpeeled weight) The last few days these meals have been morning and evening.
The other meal a mono meal of melons: Galia, cantaloupe, the stripey ones. About 2 or 3 kg gross weight - so 2 or 3 melons. Or about 250g of dried dates (or apricots or figs) dried over night, eaten with the soak water - yum :)
Although I used to pig out on nuts and seeds all the time, as soon as I was eating enough fruit that habit disappeared. Today I ate 30g of cashews - a handful - more as an experiment as I've been more 90-5-5 than 80-10-10 so far.
I've been snacking on other fruit a bit - a pear or two, or an orange but not every day. Today I had 125g of blueberries.
It's early days for me but I felt great from day one. There's been no need for discipline and I have no issue with eating lots of lovely fruit :) :)
Briggsy's habits are quite different - she eats smaller amounts more often:

Good luck!
Permalink Reply by lahna vanderbush on May 18, 2012 at 9:31am i like to use lime juice as a dressing... one of my favorite salads is more of a chunky salsa. for me i like a more substantial dressing when there is a lot of lettuce and stuff. so with the salsa/salad, the juice from the tomatoes kinda help. I like to mix tomatoes, mango, sometimes pineapple, cucumber, bell pepper, finely chopped parsley and cilantro. maybe a little bit of jalapeno. and lime juice! mix it all together and eat it! or let it sit in the fridge for a few hours and the flavors will be better.
other that that, i usually eat just fruit. a huge smoothie in the morning ( i aim for 1000 cals usually bananas, sometimes ill mix other fruits in) lunch is a mono meal ( mango, watermelon, oranges whatever i have ) dinner i usually eat something with more ingredients. like the salsa/salad, or a lettuce wrap filled with fruits and veggies. or ill just have juice.
i agree,i hate and undressed salad. im still having trouble with not seasoning all my food alot!!!

Permalink Reply by HandymanBananas on May 21, 2012 at 8:58pm I don't know how you folks only eat three meals a day... I am ravenous if I don't eat every 30-60 minutes. This is my 10th day so it possible that detoxing is requiring me to eat more. I start with a liter+ water, use the bathroom, and then make a smoothie with 10 bananas and half a lemon (with the peel) and some water. During the day I eat about 15 or so more bananas, maybe a couple of apples, or oranges, or grapefruit. At night I make a huge HUGE salad of sorted veggies and also use lemon juice for dressing although grapefruit and orange sound great! I wait a little while for the veggies to digest and then- I have another banana smoothie of anywhere from 6-10. During the day I drink 2+ gallons water.
In the salad I use a quarter to a half of avocado to round out my fat intake OR I have 1 tablespoon of almond butter with an apple.
SO yea... that's what I have been doing and its working for me. Congratulations on getting back to raw food! I am obviously VERY new to this LFRV and I would welcome any suggestions from you too!!
