I created this group for supporting each other during transformation to raw vegan lifestyle. Also here will be given some tips how to suceed in a fruitarian diet, whats the most comon mistakes made by raw food eaters and a lot of more usefull info.

Hello all 4 days fully raw last week. Here's how it went. I mananged 4 days because my detox combined with pre-menstrual was making too difficult. On the postive, my tummy bloat came right down and candida subsided. Peeing dark orange. Kidneys detoxing big time.On the negative I was very tired, headaches, weakness, mentally drained, emotional outbursts. It's the headaches that make it too hard for me. They really knock me back. If it wasn't for those I could see it through.

WOuld it be too crazy to go raw on head ache tablets? I will post on the transition group. Actually thinking about it that's what I did when I went a month raw 4 years ago.

Maybe take it in stages. You could try raw til 4. I did about two months having massive amounts of potatos in the evening with a salty japenses dressing. Then I cut out salt. I just went fully raw bu 4 days after 5 months. Good luck!

I am as new as new can be on my journey to becoming a fully raw vegan.  In other words, I'm not vegan at all, but my poor health requires that I change from my all-American animal by-product diet to something much more energizing and natural.  I've been trying to change over for about a month now and I can't seem to do it.  I fall into temptation way too much.  Can you guys give me some tips on how to stay motivated and eat my fruits and veggies?  Also, I live in a heavy meat-eating family so I will have to be buying my own fruits and veggies on a very small budget and in an area where the only thing that's grown locally is corn (Illinois). How can i get my hands on affordable tropical fruits (or any fruit that isn't just an apple)?

I am a true true begginer. I have researched a lot about this life style and I am so thrilled and excited to startmy journey. I live in a place where it will be somewhat challenging, but I am ready and strong enough to do it.
I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in October 2013, when I suddenly found myself in the ER due two two bulging discs in my lower back, one of which has hardly any healthy mass.
I have never been a big meat eater, but loved milk and cheese. Also i live in Dubai, where the Arabic diet is predominant, loaded with olive oil. To make matters worse, I am a flight attendant. I am stuck in a metal tube for hours on end, exposed to radiation and extremely unhealthy fatty food. Basically a flying McDonaldsmobil. I get insufficient rest due o my hectic schedule, im waaayyy to tired and run down to excercise , always retaining fluids and air from my organs constantly expanding and contracting. I fell ill again with my back a few days ago. I had to go to the Er once again for a morphine drip. Because this was so strong on my body along with the other pain killers and muscle relaxants they have given me, I started vomiting( sorry, I know its gross) so much so, that only stomach acid was coming out. I have had many health issues in the past due to my childhood, and absolutely hate taking pills. I prefer to suffer through a migraine than take drugs. However for this back issues, it was excruciating.
The vomiting caused a swollen lymph node in my throat and swollen tonsils....resulting in antibiotics. Bcause I had recently been away for work for 4 month due to my back injury, I wanted to get well quickly so I can go back to flying. ( calling sick in my profession is not lightly looked upon). So, I took all the meds, I slept for almost two days straight, and any waking moment was hazy...as if I were high....well I was high- pain killers are narcotics.
I did a test...i ate few apples for breakfast, tons of water throughout the day, bananas for lunch, and a tomato soup for dinner, with few dates as a sweet snack in between. I felt ok. I fell asleep earlier than i usually do, but no doubt it was due to the medication. The next morning....today....i woke up with the sun, feeling great. I still had my medication for pain of course, but I felt happy, ready to deal with my health,optimistic- signed up to continue my education, went for several slow walks, just a real sense of well being. I had bananas for breakfast, tons of water...but lunch came around. I wanted to see how my mood was affected if I ate something cooked and - animal product- dont hate me- i had salmon with baked potatoes for lunch. By the time dinner came around, I felt sluggish, pain in my back worsened, mucus from the throat worsened, i completemy skipped dinner, and stopped drinking water. I felt genuinly guilty. I dont know if eating HCRV affected me so much for just on day or if its my mind playing tricks on me. I definitlry believe in the power of healting through nutrition. But I have doubtds does this apply to the spine, discs, bones, nerves as well???
I am currently 5ft 3 in( 160 cm)---currently, as if im gonna grow more--- and 129-130 lbs( 58-59 kgs), i just turned 26 three days ago btw ::))
What I hope to achive is total and optimal health. I dont care about the number on the scale. I care about being able to bend and lift something off the floor w/o pain.I care about being able to visit all the destinations I go to and exploring this wonderful world without feeling extreme fatigue and weakness. I care about going to the gym in every destination I go and doing physicall activities outside without feeling sluggish, tired and hurt. I care about being able to jump on my fiancé's back when i come home from a 9 day trip w/o fearing I will hurt myself. I care about restarting kickboxing and without my lungs dropping on the floor. Hey! I'm just getting started. I've been slowly transitioning over the last month and have been feeling more exhausted of late but I think this has more to do with my academic load more than the nutrition as I'm in the middle of writing a thesis. Anybody have any energy tips? Danke!

I have a question as well.. I have theese itchy rashes all over my body (arms, legs, hips) and I don't know if it's a detox symptom or an allergy, what do you think? My whole body itches, even my scalp and I'm a bit worried :P

Check out thedurianking on YouTube. He is a raw foodists and takes supplements. If you are going to supplement, get blood work done first that way you're body doesn't start to become immune to the supplements and rely on them.

Grizel, best course of action is to get thoroughly blood tested before taking any supps, then about twice a year thereafter.  That will give you a baseline from which to proceed, and let you track any fluctuations.
