Smoothie? In my household, my grandfather would let the peel on plantains go black, and then slice them lengthwise and fry them... I'm not sure how to eat them on a raw food diet- but I do know that they are DELICIOUS when ripe. If they're hard, they're not ripe.
Permalink Reply by ka on April 23, 2012 at 1:57am I've had quite a few bananas do that. I usually just blend them up a little with a few dates cuz I'm not a fan eating them just out of the peel when they get like that.
Permalink Reply by Jelle on April 27, 2012 at 12:01am Thanks for the responses. I tried eating them the last five days. I kind of went for the well as long as I don't feel like puking after a 2 litre smoothie of these banana's they are probably fine. I added extra berries for the taste.
However I noticed my feces where way to liquid the past few days, so I am not really sure the banana's are OK, but there may be other factors that are causing this.
Thankfully an other box of banana's has come in the ripe enough to start eating range and I trashed the last few banana’s of my old stock.
Still being surprised by the crap quality of tropical fruits that make it into my country and into my house....
