Comment by Nate on April 5, 2012 at 8:59am Keep in mind by purchasing a case of bananas you get about 8 lbs for free. I typically buy a case per week and eat them in 7 days. The first few days of bananas I stick under a heated blanket to speed the ripening process. The remaining bananas I try to keep cool to slow down ripening by putting them in a cool room near the floor or under an open window (especially at night). Once the bananas get just ripe enough to eat (barely spotted) I stick them in the refrigerator until I'm ready to eat them. I also keep a few meals of peeled frozen bananas in the freezer in case something goes wrong with my ripening process.
Comment by Nate on April 4, 2012 at 4:50am Large bananas = more fruit and less peel ; ) The boxes with the World Direct label say USDA certified organic and QAI certified organic. Sometimes they don't have the World Direct boxes and the boxes instead say Fair Trade organic. Have no fear!
Comment by Kevin Dorsch on March 18, 2012 at 3:35am By the way, you can get a 3 pound tub of dates from Costco for $6.99. They are the deglet noor variety from Tunisia. Really nice and fresh! bought two tubs.
Comment by Rachel Fleming on March 9, 2012 at 12:00pm Hey Nate,
All of that fruit sounds awesome and at a much better rate than I am currently getting mine!
I would definitely like to meet up and meet new people. I haven't met anyone on this diet yet! So, this weekend won't work beacuse I have a family event but I could plan for next weekend. I am thinking of driving to ATL and back to AL in the same day probably. I will get in touch with Shannon. :)
Thanks!
