30 Bananas a Day!

Hi all, thanks for joining the group. I just moved to the Atlanta area 2 months ago and don't know anyone. Does anyone want to meet sometime? Possibly go for a hike and share some fruit or meet at a farmer's market? We could also do a dinner potluck type of thing. This morning I picked blueberries and strawberries at Adam's Farm in Fayetteville. If you've got some other ideas please share. I'm currently volunteering at local farms most of the week but am free on Saturday nights, Sundays, and Mondays. Anyone interested in doing something during one of those times?

Hi, I just joined the group.  I am interested in having a meetup at farmers market or going outside for a hiking or ride.  I am free on weekends.  Let me know if you got some ideas.  Laijiayin@gmail.com

For sure! I'd love for us all to get together sometime. It's really easy to stop checking 30BaD but once we all get together in person- no one wants to stop! :D (At least that's been my experience in MA and FL). I'll offer up my house, unless we want to do a park or something. I wish there was an audubon here or someplace like that.

I appreciate your enthusiasm! I'm super busy right now with school work but would sure enjoy meeting some people if I can make some free time. The winter weather is kind of subduing my ambition right now. What is your schedule like? For the next 2 months I'm in Decatur on Wednesday mornings for school and to the YDFM afterward to buy produce. Weekends I'm open too. Feel free to try and organize something and I'll do my best to make it.

Hey! I'd love to meet up!  Anytime after 1p til around 5 or 6 I'm taking care of my elderly grandma currently so have to be back in Summerville GA in the evenings but I'm going out of my mind there lol there are no 811ers let alone vegans let alone vegetarians summerville is the poster child for 16and pregnant small southern towns...only place to buy produce is the walmart, needless to say the drive to atlanta dekalb farmers mkt is mandatory for survival ;)

now i need human interaction as well! lol :)

I'm south of Atlanta, but I do work in Atlanta.  A meetup at the DFM would be great, or possibly even a hike, anywhere in North Ga. on the weekends.   It would be nice to meet some people with like-minded diets, as this lifestyle is so unique compared to everyone else.  Even my own family thinks I'm out there, but I'm convinced this is the lifestyle for optimum health.

I'm all the way out in Augusta, but there doesn't really seem to be any place closer for meeting lfrvers so if you guys ever meet up on the weekends I'd try to get out there...when is the farmer's market?

I have been to a couple of 'meet-up' Raw potlucks at Life Cafe (Hwy 120) in Marietta-Cobb County.  It's a fairly convenient location and they do one or 2 a month there on Sundays at 3pm.  It's a cool point of contact place!

I'm more than happy to meet folks at the Dekalb Farmers Market! We live nearby it and go at least once a week (usually more!)

If anyone's interested in meeting up there and then coming over for a LFRV dinner, you're welcome to join us! Any day or time, regardless of the number of people. We love meeting other 811ers. :]

Shannon, I would definitely enjoy meeting sometime. I go to YDFM every week. I'll try to coordinate something with you when I have some openings in my schedule. Thank you for the offer.

I was thinking about hiking a loop on Pine Mountain Trail near Callaway Gardens Sunday morning about 10 a.m.  I was thinking about starting at the Radio Tower, and doing about an 8 mile loop.  If anyone's interested, it could be shorter if that's too long.  It's a scenic section with about 6 or 7 small waterfalls, lots of creek crossings, and many up and down hill sections and a few sections with some large rocks, but nothing large enough you have to climb.  Let me know if you're interested.  Feel free to bring some fruit along to keep the energy up.

Ben

Ben this sounds great! I would love to join you but by school work is taking up all my time right now. My class schedule changes in March and hopefully I will have more time for social activities.

No problem Nate.   It's a nice hike with lots of rhododendron at the creek crossings and this property was actually owned at one time by FDR and it was one of his favorite places to go to unwind from the stress of dealing with the many stressful issues during his presidency.  If you do the whole trail it's about 26 miles, and with all the loops it goes over 50 miles.
