Comment by Sam on October 11, 2012 at 9:30pm Argg Dakini I was there at that time but have only just seen your post :( Anyhow its the end of the high season now not the start right?
Anyone heading over to CHiang Mai for september/October, of you are and you need me to show you around, or tell you where is beautiful but cheap to stay then go to my page and message me.
High season is coming so knowing a bit about the area, and where to go to get fruit, where to stay might save you lots of dosh-
Look forward to hearing from you all!!

Comment by Andrea on July 25, 2012 at 9:55am Yehey for the Asia group. I'm living in NYC as of the moment but I grew up in Southeast Asia (Philippines in particular). Will probably go back there for a holiday next year.
Hi I'm going to Thailand (Bangkok and Pataya) in August, can anyone offer me advice as to the best place to buy fruit/greens? I have two small kids so I don't want to be trekking to far to find them and also I don't speak any Thai (don't know whether this limits my options?). But obviously I don't want to pay over the odds if I can help it.
Also I will be breastfeeding my baby, so can anyone tell me if it's acceptable to breastfeed in public? I'm quite discreet but I know even discreet breastfeeding is unacceptable in some cultures. I don't want to offend anyone.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Comment by Jack on March 8, 2012 at 2:54pm Right, will do. I went to the largest market here in the most touristy part of Samui the other day, not much fun and I wasn't impressed by what I found, though it was probably wrong time of the day (around noon). No durians... except when I was fully loaded and on my way home, no room for a spiky friend - then I of course spotted a pile of them on a stand. Oh well, better luck next time.

Comment by Jack on March 8, 2012 at 2:15pm Holy Schmidt Linsay, now you're officially creeping me out, lol! Bed bugs? I thought gekkos were the only nightly visitors to my bedroom. So now I'm a nocturnal smorgasbord for a bunch of beetles living in the wall? Could explain why all the big bites are in my head/upper body, as that's the part of me facing the wall when I sleep, and not covered by a blanket. I know it's mozzies when it comes to my feet / legs though, I sometimes catch them at it while I sit & work. So far, they lead the biting contest against me with something like 50 - 2.
I tried disgusting amounts of citronella spray last night, and I don't think I have any fresh bites this morning. Glad my sense of smell isn't strong enough to gag from the citronella, it's just slightly irritating. No fans where I'm staying, got to work on my popularity rating ;-) I do have AC, but it doesn't provide enough airflow to keep anything away. I'll have fans on Pha Ngan, and a sea breeze.
